It's my 1st day at work and I'm nervous..

First off be yourself and dont worry you will be fine, be friendly but not chummy as you are a superviser and need to have the respect of the workers under you. expect them to get the work done but dont be over bossy.Also let them know your there for them if they have a problem you need to be willing to help out.

when you wake on monday, get dress and before leaving look at yourself in the mirror and "tell yourself "I CAN DO IT" just be yourself and don't show any hesitation. good luck.

First of all...Congratulations! Here are some things that helped me when I received my first supervisor position: 1) Don't let them see you sweat. You are in charge, if they can see you are unsure of yourself, why should they be confident in you? 2) Let them know that yes, you are new and they have been there for a while...you are open to suggestions and will enjoy hearing what they think. (everyone likes to think they have something important to say) 3) The employees you will be supervising are not your friends. It is okay to be friendly, but the ultimate decisions are yours and "friends" will make your job harder if you have to make unpopular choices. Most of all enjoy your new job.
