On the Native American side of my family, I have some famous ancesters. I am related to Chief Little Turtle, also to Chief Francis Godfroy. They are both important Native American, from the Miami Tribe. One of my grandmothers has her picture in a museum. Its too bad one of my ancesters didn't have lots of money so they could have left me some, darn....

If you are of Native American ancestry I would continue to get all the info you can on your heritage. My tribe has been fighting the govt. for many years for tribal recognition. If we get our recognition then the govt. owes us. The govt. stole from my ancesters and me being a decendent of them might be intitled to govt. benefits. I would keep checking it out and get all the info you can, who knows, if you are a Native American, there might be benefits for you. My grandmother was half Miami, I don't have alot of Miami blood in me, but it was enough for me to get a check from the govt. This was many years ago and the check was only for $400 but every bit helps. I am a member of a tribe, every year we go to our Family Reunion for The Miami Indian Tribe. The reunions have been going on for over 100 years. We have lots of other stuff going on to, I am not able to keep up with it all. I live in Ohio and our Trible Office and land is in Indiana about 4 hours away. Good luck with finding out about the picture.

I have a famous outlaw in my family tree, but he isn't as well known as Jesse James. My great, great....grandfather was Black Jack Ketchum. He apparently ran with Jesse James and his gang. Not something I'm proud of, but then again, I didn't do it, LOL.

One of my relatives is the spitting image of this very evil Viking who lived somewhere about the nineth Century, but other than that, they is no one famous or infamous. So we were just boring amiable people, the kind who would rather marry than fight.

Goldie Hawn is somehow very distantly related to me. John Rutledge, who signed the Declaration of Independence is also an ancestor. Jenna Von Oy, who played Six on Blossom is a cousin of a cousin of a cousin. Never met any of them. :o)

Hi dfollin. I see you have another variation of an Irish name. They have a big book store back in Dublin. Well I started doing the family trees a few years ago and the project is still running. It's not just a matter of how far back I can go, but also how big some of the families are. I also say trees because my mother re-married. The surprise was finding one Lord Major Of Dublin and his half brother, who was Lord Major of London's largest Borough. That must be unusual. The reason why is was a surprise is that the family did not say anything about it when we were growing up.
Best regards
Umart
