I was wondering what everyones favorite kitchen gadget is. I have several things in my kitchen that I use quite often like my "tomato knife" and the spoon colonder. I just love both of those. My tomato knife cuts tomatoes without smashing them so when I have company over and sliced tomatoes they look perfect. My spoon colonder comes in handy for for soups when you want more of the stuff in the soup instead of the juice of the soup. My hubby especially loves it for my potato soup which means he gets more potatoes.

Hi, well my kitchen is so full of so many things, but i love my food processor the best as it is really well equipped and does nearly everything for me right from kneadiong the flour, to chopping and to grinding, and it has 3-4 jars for everything, so the things move really very quick with it, and i am glad i have it and it makes my work so much easier and faster too. Yes i too have the tomato slicer like yours, but its used mainly for salads, but the processor is used for almost all kinds of cooking that i do during the day.

I think I need one of these. I've been wanting to buy one but haven't had the space for it. Since I'll be moving here again in a little while, I might get rid of some stuff I don't use and buy one of those. Thanks for the heads up.

It's either the can opener, ever essential thing that it is, the flat piece of rubber that helps you open tetchy lids,or the almost nonsensical coffee filter seperator, that just because it's so..gadgety.

I have had the bones removed from most of my fingers and replaced with silastic. My finger joints do not bend, except at the joint where they join the hand, but this doesn't prevent me from doing most things, as there is always a way. One gadget, however, that I would find indispensable is a rubber cap which fits over all sizes of jars and enables me to unscrew the lids with no trouble. I used to cut my fingers quite often until my sons bought me some very expensive, very sharp knives. I was frightened to use them at first, but my sons insisted people only cut themselves with blunt knives. I used them VERY carefully at first - but they are right. I have now used them for several years and have not cut my fingers in all that time. They cut so easily that no pressure is required and therefore no danger exists.

My favorite kitchen gadget by far is my rotisserie. I love it so much I use it several times a week. After that, there's my emulsion blender (Emeril calls it a boat motor) which comes in handy. I used to have an ice cream maker that I absolutely loved, but I had to sell it as I had no room to store or use it. It's ok, someday I'll get one that freezes on its own instead of needing the bowl to be pre-frozen.

Emulsion blender, I've never heard of one of those. Where did you get it from? I love my blender too especially for milkshakes!!

I love using my small saucers to put sliced onions and all the spice and herbs. I usually prepare all the ingredients before cooking and that's why I have to put them in separate utensils so that it's easy for me to just reach and toss into the pot or wok later. I like using my one vegetable knife because it is the sharpest of all. I can cut the strings of vegetables very easily. I also like using my wok to do almost all the cooking. It is easier to stir and fry using a wok than a pot.
