I used to feel bad for America's Player. I felt bad b/c I thought he HAD to do whatever America said even if it went against the house wishes. However, I just recently learned that he gets PAID for completing task. In fact, he makes 10,000 for each 5 tasks he completes. So it sounds like he could have changed his vote if he really wanted to in order to stay safe and make it further in the house.
So.... I don't like Eric, and don't care if he goes home anymore! It's no fun playing with America's Player if he's just in it for the money.

It's a game. Everyone on the show is playing for money. And he is on the show for a reason. He is suppose to at least try to complete each task we ask of him and we are suppose to help him win. But, I don't really like him either, but not for that reason. I just don't like him. LOL!
But if it was me. I would be doing it for the money to. Like everyone else is. It's a game and they are playing for money.

Yeah they are mostly playing for money, except Jen supposedly who just gave up half her potential winnings! Anyway, I guess it bugs me more so that he was very pushy with ED and Dani and crew so that now when they think about these 2 votes they all think he is tricking them. So if he would have just laid low, he probably would have had no problem voting for Kail b/c he wouldn't have had such a strong alliance.
I think it comes down to this, Eric tried to play the game on his own AND do what America said at the same time. The two conflicted and now I think he is screwed.

Eric does not have a choice but to do what America instructs him to do. When he goes in to place his vote he has a little chat with Julie. She doesn't ASK him who he is voting for because America has already placed that vote THROUGH him. You will notice sometimes when he gets his tasks he argues with America.
And what is the problem with him being in it for the money? Aren't they all playing it for money? Dustin took money in a veto competition. Money is what everyone is in it for. Don't be fooled into thinking otherwise.
I don't want Eric to go home and I think America should wisen up and play WITH him. But those family members of the other players at home are probably tilting the scales and not helping Eric out at all. Big Brother should have thought of that when they came up with this twist.
If Eric wasn't playing for money to complete his tasks, then what would be in it for him to be America's player and do what America says, especially when a good part of America who are watching are friends and family members of other players? Why should he be America's Player at all then? Help this guy out and let him win one for the Continent - NORTH AMERICA (I'm Canadian).

Well I just heard from other sites that he had a choice, but maybe he doesn't. I just think he's not playing very well. The fact is, America screwed up asking him to vote for Kail twice b/c obviously America in general cannot figure out strategy! I feel like the above poster that he could have at least played it off better or gave a reason for voting against them instead of lying and lying and lying more. He looks like a sneak to them b/c he doesn't give them any reason to trust him.

You are right that he gets $10,000 for every 5 tasks that he completes. That is the offer Big Brother gave him. I do think that even though he is getting paid, he is not allowed to go against America. If he disagrees with America he still has to do what America told him to do. Of course I don't know the full details but I really don't think Big Brother would allow him the freedom to go against America. If they did that, then he really wouldn't be America's player. He would be a player in the house who might or might not do what America wants.
I think they are paying him for completing tasks because they know there is no way he will win. I have thought from the beginning that Big Brother would do something to ensure that Eric does not win. I thought that they would let it slip out that he is America's player, but maybe they sent a plane with a sky message to shake things up and get the other people in the house to not trust him.
I don't think Eric is in it just for the money. If I was in it just for the money, I would much rather simply play the game and have a chance at the big money. I don't think Eric has even successfully completed 5 tasks yet, which means he has not received any money yet.
I think he is in a bad spot being America's player. I hope he doens't go home but it sure isn't looking good for him now.

I guess I am not sure either. I was told and read a few different places that he gets to choose, but I couldn't find anything on the website.
I don't think they would tell he is America's Player b/c then ppl would basically vote him out quickly. Oh well, looks like he might be out this week anyway and it will clear the air for all this.
I just think if he DOES have a choice he is making us all feel bad for him, but if he in fact DOESN'T have a choice, I guess it sucks for him and makes it impossible for him to win. Especially since America can't figure out who to freaking vote for! I saw on the BB website people trying to say "you can't have him vote for kail people! He has to vote with the house or he will get caught!" Well America must be dumb b/c they all still voted for Kail and therefore screwed Eric again.
So, if he doesn't have a choice, will someone clarrify anywhere there are more details about this?

I didn't know this either, but I still like Eric. He should be getting paid for all he has to do. He has had to change his opinions and who he wanted to vote for.
I think that it is going to be very hard for him to even complete 5 tasks for as long as he is in the show. And now that someone has sent the airplane calling him a liar, I bet he goes this week!

Yeah I think he might go this week. However the way they cut the show they make it LOOK like Danielle is gunning for Eric, but she might actually have another plan. I'm hoping he stays a little longer, but at the same time I could care less if he wins now. I'd rather Jessica win at this time.

Regardless of whether or not Eric legally has a choice to follow America's vote, I highly doubt he'd ever go against a vote. The pay is if he succeeds at the task, not if he tries to complete the task.
The mistake he made this week was to hide the fact that he was the second vote. It should have been obvious to him that his was going to be the only unaccounted vote once again. Then he should have come up with some excuse for why he was voting the way he was. He could have been "up front" with the alliance, knowing that Nick would still receive enough votes to leave. It would have probably cost him some standing within the alliance, but wouldn't have him be suspected of being a "mole" as he is now.

I agree with that. He screwed up royally by lying so much and sticking to it. Even once they thought they figured him out, he just kept saying "I never lied to you" which just made them all mad.
Funny the theory the came up with though, that he is trying to make everyone look bad! Really he's just trying to win money.
