Which city would you like to live in?

Are major cities now becoming unaffordable?
Moscow is the most expensive city in the world according to research, while London is ranked as the second most costly.
Seoul, Tokyo and Hongkong complete the top five priciest cities. Paraguay's capital Asuncion was ranked as the cheapest.
Do you live in one of the most expensive cities? If so, how do you cope? If you could live anywhere, what factors influence your choice of city?

I don’t live in an expensive city- I live in a town- I refuse to live in any Big city- I actually am in the country and love it- I like a lot of land- I love to be outside on my land and not have neighbors- or smog and smoke- It’s quiet where I live- I’m about 45 miles south of Rochester. And that is close enough to the city- Sure I have to drive that 45 miles to go shopping for most things (minus groceries) but I wouldn’t trade country living for any city in the world!

Hi soulsoster_16! I wanted to go back and lived in London but it is really expensive. I was invited by a friend to stay with her for a couple of months, that's why I didn't have to pay for my accomodations. I love the city because it still maintained its old architectural buildings and historical sites. The place is really beautiful. Have a nice day!

I live near Memphis, Tennessee and always thought I would like to live there but traffic is bad and the crime rate is bad so I don't know anymore. My husband is from California and I thought all the towns and cities were beautiful there but I like cold weather so I probably would get bored after a while. I love snow.

I live in Manila and yes, living here for an average person with a decent but mediocre job would be very very hard. Everything here is being paid.
If I could live anywhere, I want to live in the suburbs of Scotland.

I would like to live up somewhere in Europe. Maybe Paris or Spain would do it for me. Better yet, Greece or Rome would do it too.

I can not afford to life in the most expensive city like Moscow as you mention and i would like to live in any city with tropical beaches and waterfalls,i live here in the tropical island,i just want to move out of this house close to the beach, and in the evening we can hear the wave attack the rock, without noisy neighbors, the closest one maybe a mile away.
I live in Indonesia ,it is easy to find those sight.

I live in Santa Monica, California. It cost an arm and a leg and then some to live here, but it is worth it. I get a discounted rate because I am disabled. It is nice out hear, I really like it.
It is a little to cold for me in the winter time, but all things considered, I would not want to live in to many other places. I definitely do not want to move to a city where it snows. I am not use to that kind of weather and I have asthma, so I would have a very hard time staying healthy or even alive.

At least you get a lot of sunshine in California. Compared to Britain, that is. The weather here is very gloomy, even the summer this year is wet and a bit cold. And the winters are dreadful.

Beijing,I choose Beijing.
Beijing is my hometown, though this research didn't mention Beijing, but for me,I choose Beijing.
There are so many memories about Beijing.Though maybe one day I get a chance to travel around the world, but finally,I would come back to my hometown.

I have yet to visit France. Imagine living in a city where you're a few minutes away from the Eiffel Tower and Museum de Louvre. Lovely. And Parisians are very chic, too. Perhaps I can take a lesson or two from them.

Singapore is not among the most expensive cities but i consider it an expensive place to live in. And she will get even more expensive to live in. We cope by saving every penny but I must admit that it is hard. GST has further increased, costs of living are now escalating, most notably, prices for public houses and flats have increased to an unbelievable level. Now news just released that public transport companies are going to increase their transport costs. In no time, Singapore will become the top five priciest cities.
I would like to live in a more laid-back city, maybe somewhere in Australia or China. I used to believe that Brisbane was once rated as the 2nd most liveable city in the world, and I've been there to testify - very nice people and houses, nice winter weather, and at least no honking and unnecessary roadworks and pollution. If it's China, my choice would be chengdu.

Really? I thought Singapore would be lovely prince-wise. Oh well. But at least the food is cheap, no? And the place is peaceful.
I think I heard that once as well, that Brisbane is one of the most liveable city in the world. Australia, as a whole, is a noce country to live in. They are laid-back and at the same time prosperous. They care for the environment, too.

I currently live in a small town in Lincolnshire, England. It's quite annoying because Lincolnshire is quite rural and there aren't many large cities nearby that have loads of shops and facilities e.t.c.
I would, however, love to live in California, perhaps in Sacremento or a city near the edge because of the beaches. I want to move to America when I'm older - I just love all the beautiful places there are and America literally has everything.

I live in a great city. I live in Newcastle in England. I love the people and way of life here. If I had to move it would be somewhere in Florida. I loved it there when I went on holiday. Luxembourg city is another one of my favorite places. The people are not friendly at first but when you get to know them they are lovely.

Really? I couldn't imagine a rural area in England. Oh well. What do I know? I've been in England for a measly seven months.
I would love to visit California, mainly for the sun and the laid-back culture. And the surfing, man! :)

I think I would choose Indonesia to live but I will work online and earn money in high currency such as USD. This way I would earn more but spend less. I would be able to save money and avoid taking up loans to build a house or buying a car. If I have the opportunity to do it, I think I will do it.

Singapore, because food is cheap, people are disciplined, the economy is booming and the night life is to die for.
Switzerland because it has the best of both world - good economy and at the same time rich natural resources.

Yes I very much agree with you that living in major cities are now becoming unaffordable. Each and every thing is becoming costlier day by day and are becoming more and more away from reach of common man. Only high profile society people can afford such things.
Well I am from India living in Lucknow, State capital of Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow is not too expensive nor too cheap city. A man with medium salary range can easily live a better life.
If I would get a chance to live, I would prefer to live in Manali, H.P. which is one of the beautiful place in India. It had a very pleasent environment and climate.
