You can look around your area and take note of the different real estate companies and then look at their personal websites. A lot of companies don't list houses on realtor.com. You might also check out the real estate section on ebay.

They have access to broker's MLS service which will list every house on the market and the current status of that house. Your agent an also help you get pre-qualified for a mortgage so you have a committment in place before you make an offer. Kristy's has a good solution. Check the local realtors and see what they have listed. I also suggest www.remax.com, www.century21.com, and www.coldwellbanker.com. I think these are nationwide realtor offices, and should have listings for just about anywhere in the USA. Another place to check is www.fsbo.com. (For Sale By Owner) These aren't linked to any realtor, just a collection of homes being sold by the owners. Best wishes to the house hunt!
