I love comedy, I love stand up and shot comedy shows. I do not like slap stick comedy from the Three Stooges, but a lot of people do. I was wondering who is your favorite comedian? I find there is too many for me to pick just one. I love the ones I picked up there but I also love Lucille Ball, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, and a lot of other comedians. Can you pick just one?

I would have to say Robin Williams is my favourite. I really loved the shows that Robin Williams, Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg did for the homeless. They did a series of shows of comedic sketches including other comedians. I can't remember what they were called but they made me laugh so hard. I tried to find them in the video store but couldn't. If I could remember what they were called I could do a search online. Does anyone else remember these?

I would have to say Robin Williams. I love most movies he does and his stand up stuff is real funny. But I also like Chris Rock. I like everyone hates Chris cause it reminds me of some of the things that were happpening when I was a kid. He is real funny. I used to really like Eddie Murphy but kinda lost interest the last few years. Didn't care of Norbert at all.

My favourite comedian is Eddie Murphy. I have been watching his movies and I really laugh at every scene and every punchline he does. He is a very good entertainer and he really gives life to the character that he is portraying. I like his movies Dr. Dolittle series and of course the famous Nutty Professor. I just can't stop laughing while watching it. Eddie murphy is just one great comedian.

I will mention two that I really loved. George Carlin and Redd Foxx. I had many of George Carlins records. And I used to listen to my moms records of Redd Foxx's burlesque type humor. I prefer George Carlin the most though. Great campus comedian I think.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

George Carlin did not do the Sledge-o-matic. That was Gallhager
that does that. I saw this routine way before it was famous. He
was the entertainment at the Minneapolis Sportsman Show actually
30 some years ago. Maybe 2 years later he was on Showtime with his sledge-0-matic routine.

I love Eddie Murphy the best. I like his acting especially in the old movie titled "The Nutty Professor". I watched this move so many times that I almost memorized all the dialogs in it. I am always chuckled when I recall a scene from this movie when the family of Professor Sherman Klump went for a dinner at a restaurant. The grandmother made a joke of his son about how he was unable to perform in bed. She held out a piece of spaghetti and told everybody at the table that her son's (you know what) is exactly like the spaghetti. It was such a hilarious scene, and the whole movie was full of synical but funny jokes.

Monty Python always tickles my funny bone! Their movies and the tv show. They had so many classic sketches. I've got a thing for British comedy anyway.
I like stand-up and sketch comedians too. Some of my old favs are, Red Skelton, Phyllis Diller, Carol Burnett, Victor Borge, Minnie Pearl, George Carlin, Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams and Jerry Clower.
Some of my newer favorites are Eddie Izzard, Brett Butler, Rita Rudner, Kevin "Bloody" Wilson and Ron White.
My #1 right now would have to be Eddie Izzard. I think he's just hilarious and very very unique. There aren't too many openly transvestite comedians/actors out there!

Yes he is the actor from The Riches. Here's a great clip from one of his stand-up shows in full makeup. If kids are around or you're offended by off color language you may not want to watch but he's so hilarious. There's a bunch of clips of his various shows on youtube just type his name in the search bar.

Is Eddie Izzard the actor from the Riches? I did not know he was openly transvestite.
You have thought of a lot of comedians. I had to think a long time and write them down just to think of the few I wrote down. I have a problem with my memory when I am not feeling well.

That is kind of hard for me to chosse from. I mean there are so many good movies Eddie Murphy has played in and Robin Willaims also and Bill Cosby he is just funny. I have liked watching th Cosby show for years and I also like hearing his jokes. This is hard for me to choose. Good disscussion.

I think it would be very hard to get into show business as a comedian because of all the hours of stand up you have to endur. It would be very had for me to stand up infront of an audiance and get booed at and have the guts to do it again the next day.
I admire the ones who continue on and make it big.

Rita Rudner is so funny I have not seen her stand up in a long time.
Rita Rudner was on a morning show years ago with Bob Sagit, that was a comedy/new show at 7am it did not last long. That is where I first saw Rita Rudner and have loved her ever sense.

You are right RIP, George did a lot for comedy. He got arrested for free speech. At least they do not arrest anyone for free speech now or a lot more of our rappers would be in the clink.
