Has anyone had an experience with an inappropriate doctor? I have. TWICE!

I respect doctors but I have run into two doctors in my life who were inappropriate and out of line. The first was when I was just a teen. He was giving me B12 shots for anemia. He had a little office downtown and I would go there weekly. He would give me shots in the butt (I later found out he could have done it in my arm). He has a desk with a chair and a ladies sweater hanging on it but, every time I went for my shot, there was no nurse. She was always "out" for a few moments or "home with a migraine". I felt he was creepy but I was young and I trusted a doctor.
He was OK at first but, after about 6 weeks, he started to make me feel very uncomfortable. Any teen who has to yank her pants down for a strange old guy would probably feel weird (I hope) but he was taking more time to give me the shot then helping me pull up my pants. In a weird way. After one really stressful visit, I asked my mother to come with me from now on and the guy backed off and gave me the shot in seconds as my mother stood there. Lord knows what was on his mind before my mother came with me.
The second time, I went to a consultation with a doctor. I had on a red baby T with Mickey Mouse on it. It wasn't revealing at all. This was just a few years ago. He asked me questions and all the usual things but I noted he seemed to be looking at my, uh, shirt a lot. At the end of the consultation, I stood up to leave andhe stood up to walk me to the door. heH stared right at my ... chest and said he wished he were Mickey Mouse! (Mickey, being on my chest and all). I was appalled. I handed him back the forms I was taking home to fill out and said that I didn't want a doctor who was more interested in my chest than my well being and that I didn't think my husband would take too kindly to what he said to me. He tried to get out of it but, as I walked out, he said, "You look as good going as you did coming in."
PERV.
Has anyone ever had a creepy doctor experience? If you did, what did you do? Has a doctor just made you feel creepy without outright saying or doing anything?
Share with me! Or am I alone?

I had an experience where I had to go to my doctor cause of a case of the flu. Well I made an appointment that day but they informed me my women doctor was out and I would see a different doctor. Well from being sick I just wore a t shirt and some sleep shorts since I didnt feel up to getting dressed. The doctor ended up being a man that made me feel uncomfortable from the moment he walked in the room. Instead of ever looking at my face he always stared at my chest and made me even lay down to listen to my heartbeat! Creepy. Also at the end of the visit he sat in his chair and watched as I walked out the room before ever standing up. I ended up changing doctors completely and made a complaint. I just knew the whole experience was inappropriate.

I have seen the guy that works in the same office as my doctor and luckily he doesn't seem to be pervy. So if she was ever out and i was there just for a sickness, I think he'd be ok. You bring up a good point that ppl should check out the whole office of doctors just so they know what they might be stuck with if their doctor is out!!

I stick to female doctors, I just don't like the thought of being alone in a room with a guy who could be all creepy like that! obviously there are females that are creepy too but I think it's less likely. I'm surprised how many girls I know that prefer male doctors.
My dentist office has male doctors, but they don't bother me at all for 2 reasons. 1) One of the male doctors is my sisters friend. and 2) The chairs are all out in the open pretty much. They are like like cubicles with all the hygentists walking around between the patients. I like this better than thinking of going into a private room with a dentist that may be creepy.
I would have reported that guy, I'm sure there are places to report doctors I just don't know where! I'd make sure to warn people too so they don't bring their daughters there. As for the shot in the butt thing - that shows why everyone should get a second opinion anytime they can. At least now with the internet you could look up your options so you would have known that wasn't the ONLY way. But even without the net, going to another doctor just to make sure would have probably taught you that you could get it in the arm and that the other guy was just creepy.
Hope you don't find anymore creepy doctors - yuck!!

I prefer female doctors but can't find many who are experts in the areas I need them to be. I have been to a few very good male doctors who were very professional but I also have been to some real creeps. I went to a TOTAL creep when I was 18 and didn't even realize he was doing bad things to me until I saw another doctor who didn't do what this guy did. I have my husband or sister go with me to any new doctor now. I go armed!
My dentist never bothered me as far as being male and being that close to me but my sister is completely creeped out by male dentists because she thinks they do things to her when she is sleeping for procedures. Ugh. I never even thought of THAT. Luckily, I never go to sleep for any of my tooth procedures so I am watching at all times. lol. Crazy that I even have to THINK about this with professionals.

My husband or sister now goes with me to the doctor just to have someone there. I feel less nervous that way.

I read an article a while back about a woman who filed charges against her doctor b/c he'd made over a dozen inappropriate advances on her and on the last visit she had with him she was put out for a procedure and upon waking up found him fondling her. My biggest question was if he'd made over a dozen inappropriate advances on her WHY DID SHE KEEP GOING BACK? I would have stopped after the first time and turned him in. To keep going back tells him it's ok.
I think it was a great idea to take your mom with you the first time it happened and I would have turned both of them in. I would hate to think how many other women and girls these perv's hit on.

Having someone with you is always smart. You never what will happen plus they can also help you to understand your health condition.

Oh. My. GAWD! No, I cannot say that I have ever had that happen with a doctor (happened with a co-worker though) and I'm completely amazed, appalled, and skeeved out! What a creepy perv! Good for you for walking out of his office. Did you say anything else to him after the comment he made when you walked out? I think I would have walked back and slapped him upside the head. Wow.

Just resolving this discussion - a YEAR later. I just went to a new doctor last week and guess what? HE IS CREEPY. I made my sister go with me and she said after that I should ditch the guy immediately and I am.
