what is your story about Valentines' Day?

every lunar July 7th is Chinese Valentines'Day and this year, it falls on solar august 19th. here i'd like to share the story of Niulang( means cowboy) and Zhinv( means cloth weaving girl), which is the origin of this day. Long time ago, there was a smart, honesty and kind-hearted boy who had been an orphan since he was a little boy. he had to live with his elder brother and sister-in-law,who was crul to him. he was always maltreated by her and was forced to do a lot of hard work. the sister-in-law persuaded her husband---Niu's elder brother to live seperately with Niu, taking away all and only leaving Niu an old cow. this old cow was not a common one. it was a golden cow in the heaven and was sentenced to be a cow in the common world because it violated rules in heaven. it decided to help the good boy when it saw he was badly treated. one day, it told Niu that there was a lake at the foot of a mountain in the east. each nightfall, there would be seven fairies having bath. only if Niu hide one's cloth, she could not be able to get back to the heaven and would stay as his wife. he did as he was told. they youngest one could not find her cloth and started to cry when Niu appeared with her cloth. he asked for her hand before gave it back to her. Zhinv thought he was a good mand and said"yes". after their marriage, they loved each other more and more each day and had two children, happily living. one day, the good old cow told Niu that he can fly into the heaven wearing shoes made of its skin. then it died. before long, their marriage was heard by the godess and she got very angry.( in Chinese conception, no god or godess should have the concepion of love between a man and a woman, let alone marriage.)Zhinv was forced to get back to the heaven.Niu was very sad and the cow's words came to his mind. he wore the special shoes and fly after Zhinv. he was gainning on her when the godess appeared and set a river---the milky way----between them. they have nothing to do but to cry. their love for each other moved magpies and thousands of mapies flocked there and set up a temporary bridge by their little bodies so that the two lovers can walk across the magpie-bridge to get together. the godess had to give in and finally allow them get together once a year on lunar july 7th. later on, girls will come our searching for the two stars on each side of milky way every lunar july 7th. they make a wish for a good marriage and good skill of cloth weaving. well, do you have your Valentines' Day in your hometown besides 2.14? and what is the story? i really appreciate your sharing.^^
