I've met a couple that traveled to almost every country in the world. One of them would get a job in a part of the world where they wanted to explore next and then they'd move. They would spend their weekends and vacations seeing that part of the world and when they thought they were ready to explore a new area, they'd bloth search for jobs until one of them found one and move again. Sometimes she was the breadwinner and sometimes he was the breadwinner.
A friend of mine did it - but not so glamoursly. Imagine more of a world hitch hiker. He got odd jobs as a dishwasher or picking fruit where ever he was. He says he wouldn't do it with the way things are in the world today.

I think you should save some money and put it away into a high interest account for about 5 years. Whilst you are doing this I suggest going to libraries and reading up about the places you would like to go to. Put together an itinerary that includes some cheaper locations. You could camp and stay in budget guest houses when necessary. Buying your airline tickets from a travel agent that deals with budget fares is essential. Good luck.
