In 1988-1990 I was in the U.S. Army serving in Germany. Fortuneately I was able to travel all over Germany, Austria, Sitzerland, France, and Lichtenstein. Unfortunately, I was young and foolish and I did not label or organize all of my pictures. I was hoping someone could help me to identify some of them. In Germany, I visited Bavaria, Heidelberg, Munich, Berlin(during the period the wall was coming down) and many other smaller cities and towns. In Switzerland I visited St. Moritz and Geneva. I am pretty sure this photo is not of France, Austria, or Lichtenstein. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I also have a question. How can you, if you can, upload more than one picture at a time, for a discussion?

I have been to Germany a few times. I guess that the photo shows somewhere along the River Danube. Is it Regensberg perhaps? I haven't yet seen Heidelberg but I guess it could be there. The whole area of Bavaria is pretty with many scenic views. I have seen it in the warm summer as well as the frosty winter with snow on the ground. I have never been able to upload more than one photo at a time for a discussion. But there are many computer specialists on My Lot that might be able to suggest hoe to do this. Good luck.

I tried to sharpen it up a bit but I am not very good with photo editing. It is a photo from 1989 and wasn't a very good one to begin with.

I wish I could help you. I have my own unlabeled photos from my younger days. The first trip that I took to Europe was with 2 other friends backpacking, and we went everywhere. Some things I clearly remember, but far too many become fuzzy over time. I completely understand what you are going through. Hopefully you will find the answer to your question. A very ingenious way to get the answer!

One thing just popped into my head. Maybe you actually should try posting the photo on a travel site where people write about their adventures? I don't think that too many people on MyLot spend a lot of time in the travel section (based on my experience here).

I like that idea! Thank you :) And I hope you are eventually able to label yours as well. Great memories aren't they?

I used to live in Germany too, my father was in the Royal Air Force. We lived in the British garrison of JHQ, near Munchengladbach. Germany is an amazing place and like you I loved being able to visit the rest of Europe while I was there. I'm not sure where that is but it looks very southern, like Bavaria or Italy, I'd say that region, or another more mediterranean area.

Thanks for your suggestion. I have almost a hundred of these photos from all over and 99% of them I have no idea which old castle it is, or what bridge, etc. I truly regret not cataloging all of them. I was in Bavaria so maybe that is it. I will just keep hoping that a German MyLotter comes along and recognizes it :)
