What is the most effective anti-virus today?

I don't really know the most effective anti-virus today.. But as what I have experienced, the most effective and free anti-virus today is the AVG Free Edition which you can download at www.download.com . AVG Free updates almost daily and it really is effective. :) and the best thing, you dont even have to pay for anything to protect your computer from viruses.

For me, it is. I also use the free edition but if I can have the resources, I'd still opt for the professional version. Thanks, anyway.

I have used Norton and AVG. I have found AVG the most effective.

Me too. I have used a lot of them and found, and is using, AVG free edition to effective.

Try AVG anti-virus which can downloaded from www.grisoft.com. It has a professional version (for sale) and it has also a free version. Try it.

AVG is pretty good if you are looking for freeware. Antivir is also good, but on free mode you get a pop up.
