I am a worry person myself, and was wondering if many of felow MyLotters were "worry" people too? According to the ancient Greeks, worry was considered to tear a persons in two and to drag that person in opposite directions. What do you think about that? And I wish there was a way to start worrying less about this and that, and have some peace of mind finally :)

So, qud, you never worry? What if your kid does not show up from school? What if your old and sick mother does not answer the phone for hours? You just stay calm and wait for a sign from the Man above? Excuse me, I don't buy it.

I do believe Qudsiakarim85, still, this doesn't make me worry any less. Logic tells me that if I worry or don't worry - this wouldn't change a thing, but than still, it continues and goes on. And believe me, I would rather enjoy life and feel free of worries :)

Hi there. And yes - I guess that's true - too much worry tears you apart, and you can't concentrate on the important things in life, for worrying about the little things. I'm not really a worrier - of course I worry about the obvious things, like illness, bereavement etc., and I do worry about my beloved cats, but I'm not a stressed, worrying kind of person - too chilled out for that! Life goes on regardless of our worry - and whatever will be, will be:-)) Take care xxxx

Hi there Rosie, thanks for answering here dear :) There are moments that I worry, and others that I work and concentrate on important stuff, like work, that has to be done. No matter what, worrying comes all the time, no matter what I am doing, and I would love to be the person who is chilled out when she chooses to be - and this will be enough for me, just having sdsome kind of a "command" that I could give to my self, like: "Realx now dear, and chill, wow, nice " :)

I guess if, at the end of everything, you are still alive then all is well. I don't think I ever solved a problem by worrying about it, but I would have felt guilty if I didn't worry about something, especially if it was important. It's like my job in life.

Well Terry and Rollo1, by me worry brings stress, and stress is shortening our life span considerably. Stress in small amounts seems to be necessary, but by increased every day stress we are on the loosing end, so what i actually would like is find a cure...

my worries are mostly financial ...instability in money matters ..I do not believe that yoga and meditation could ease out my financial worries . You need real money to solve the crisis .

Sukumar, Believe it or not, only the rich among us can fair easily with money, and still, they too worry about it. The more you have - the mnore you worry! As for the rest - normal folks, we all have more or less money worries, and you're not netirely correct. In order to be able to deal with your money troubles, you need to be calm, and be able to find a way to make more money. You can do it when under stress, but it's gets more difficult. I know plenty of excecutives in big companies that need relaxation in order to be more productive and to achieve more, so it goes for us worrier people too, get relaxed in order to get out of your money troubles :) Good luck

Worry? Well... nope. Not at all. I am basicly PARANOID. Exactly paranoid. I freak out from any little thing. I freak out if my boyfriend does not call me the second he gets home in the evening after taking me home scared that something might have happened to him. I freak out if I don't find my key. I freak out from anything... somethimes I belive I have serious mental problem, like my T-shirt says :)

Dear Liana, you dear really need chilling, like me, but you're far worse than me, or so it seems. I will definitely post here if I find a "cure" that works for me, as I would LOVE to feel chilled for once ;)

I worry about everything. I worry about things that have never even happened before, but just in case because they could happen, maybe... My husband tells me not to worry so much, but he knows what I am like. Luckily he is the laid-back type and so at least one of us is not always in a panic. My neurologist once told me "relax" as he was trying to test my reflexes. I told him "It is genetically impossible for me to relax, I am tense at the cellular level". They say you can't save a situation or stop a problem by worrying about it. They may be right. But what if they are wrong? I worry about that.

Rollo1 You are even a bigger worry person than I am :) and it is really a pain for myself to be as I am. Life would be so much easier for me and all the others if I wasn't so worried I am not like you put it "...tense at the cellular level" but pretty much the rest of what you described. Would you like to find a "cure" for this state of worry? I would really, but don't know where to find it, as I have tried several therapies, and yoga, but it doesn't really seem to work for me

I have better things to do than to worry about everything that comes my way. My mother worries about every little thing and it drives me crazy. I just prepare for whatever happens, and do the best I can.

Thanks for your reply Danishcanadian, And the way you do it is the right one, although there are many, many worriers among everyday people, just like your mum, me and many others. "Don't worry, be happy" from the song is what I would like to have as my lifestyle, but how to achieve the worryless state is the question :)

My mother was the worlds best worry wart, and so I was that way for quite a number of years also. My growth in faith in God and learning to trust and to spend a part of each day in prayer has helped me to overcome that habit. It's okay to be concerned for someone or about something, but to worry and stew and worry and stew about it only makes you sick.
