People who are learning COBOL can come and post what they have learned today.. Eg: I have learnt COBOL has 4 main DIVISIONS... Keep posting like this. Let us make it easy to learn COBOL.

Isnt it COBOL a thing in the past??? are companies still using spradsheet programs like this?

Yes most of the companies which are using MAINFRAMES for their buiseness applications are now using COBOL to write their applications. Pl/1 is also another language which can be used here. That is not as popular as COBOL is.. Still there is lot of demand for people who know COBOL in Software industry.. Thanks for the post.. have a good day..

It comes from the past for sure. Every time you draw money from an ATM, Ill bet some where cobol is running to authorise that transaction.
