CapeTownProgrammer It comes from the past for sure. Every time you draw money from an ATM, Ill bet some where cobol is running to authorise that transaction.

CapeTownProgrammer With or without the MS SDK. Raw C++ has its place but not easy to find support staff for it. Depends on what you want to build. There are many ways to skin a cat. You dont have to use the Spade for everything sometimes a tea spoon will do.

CapeTownProgrammer Try using GIMP. Its free and it works. http://www.gimp.org/ If you have a lot of photos to fixup then try using JoJO. I use it on www.extremememories.co.za, works well.

CapeTownProgrammer Look for Cobol To C on the internet for some ideas. You need to Use LEX and a Grammer to load your program into a proper symbol table. Then Generate the New Source from the Symbol Table. May not look much like Java when you are done. Good luck with the...

CapeTownProgrammer So why not use MainFrameExpress. It will run your Cobol as is. It will run your JCL with VSAM, QSAM for you. It will even run in Ebcdic if it needs to.
