Political Correctness - how rediculous

I'm in the process of watching a documentary about American Skinheads. They are having a peacefull march through the street shouting their usual dribble - 'white power', 'nigers no', 'forigners have got to go', etc. And the biggest irrony is that they are protected by policemen of all race, many are black.
Black men are protecting racist white men from being beaten up by other black men for shouting derogatory things about black people.
Is it just me, or does that make you feel rediculous that we live in that sort of society. To me it seems like we are all sell outs. We will do anything for our job and to keep the money coming in, money comes before everything.
I know the officers probably have no choice but would you accept the job or would you have a problem doing it if it was you?
I am white, if black people wanted to walk through the street telling me to get out of the country I was born in, calling me a forigner, I know I wouldn't want to protect them.

Its not so much a PC thing, they are there to protect the public incase a riot kicks off. Police, whatever race have to deal with scumbags who think they have the right to squark a load of crap. I am sure the white officers there were just as pissed of with it all. I am white and I would not feel anymore comfortable having to protect these scumbags. It is just part of the job.
Being a policeman, they have to be impartial, even though some aren't. I remember a muslim policeman wanted to be taken of a certain job that was sensitive towards muslims and he was deined this. I can't remember what it was now, but people know when they join up, this will happen. If anything it is un PC because they are made to do it with no exceptions.
I suppose as well, as we live in a democracy, everyone has the right to protest, but personally I do not think racists should be allowed as it is inciting hatred and serves no purpose apart from these scumbags feeling superior for a few hours. They are dangerous and this is when freedom of speech becomes too PC.

I agree with you and if they wanted to remember someone it can be done away from the rest of the public as it is only inciting hate.
I am all for protesting against injustice, not to celebrate evil, democracy is about community and this is not at all.
It must have been very hard for you to work with these sort of people too. I don't believe that people do these jobs just for money though, I feel they have a compassion for humanity otherwise there are many other jobs that pay the same, or better.
Thanks for the response.

Aint that just ironical 4ft? Actually it seems more psycedelic. These people are more extremist than the muslims the americans are having witch hunt for atm. But guess there is a difference between being a white american and being a muslim. It bloody stinks of racism, which is not the first time i have had this thought of bush and his corrupt government.
I sure would have a problem as a police officer in this situation and i am a white person. These people are more extremist than the most extremist muslims and just as dangerous. But again they are white .

I understand what you are saying but do you remember the protests in London when muslims were inciting hatred, burning the flag and they were protected. There was outcry because it offended alot of people from other races.
Also, Abu Hanza who was protected every time he held a prayer meeting outside the mosque he was banned from, he incited hatred too.
The difference lies in the justice system, but everyone no matter what they say are protected when they protest. Thats what democracy is all about I suppose, even if we hate it.

Exactly kim! Here in the UK, muslim clerics have been arrested and charged for preaching hate. But white people have sat around together preaching hate like this to each other for years.
In the film I'm watching 4 white boys have been locked up for killing a black homeless man. But the boy's are still free to talk to and preach hate to their frineds when they come to visit them. They still laugh and joke about it, and show no shame to their friends, their friends seem to show them more respect for what they've done.
Theres so many dounble standards with the 'freedom of speach'. The message seems to be: you can say what you like... as long as you're white.

And not a muslim dont forget 4ft. It is disgusting but a sad fact of life.
Just today we have had The danish national front party inviting their german friends and other european friends to have a rememberance gathering for Rudolf Hess. I am ashamed to admit that we do allow these creep to do such things in Denmark as they cannot do it in any of our nabouring countries. Police met up in force not to keep an eye on them but to protect them against a counter gathering of left wingers who wanted to stop these loonies. I am so ashamed of being danish. Wish i had never left the UK to come back home. Biiig mistake Kim.

This is part of having freedom of speech and freedom of beliefs. We don't have to agree with everyone, but we do have to allow them the same freedoms we want for ourselves. I believe the best way to remove power from the hate groups is to simply ignore them.

Hi 4tfingers! I guess I would have a problem protecting this kind of people because if they be given a chance they might do more damage on the people they are discriminating. I don't nderstand other people discriminating other people just because they have a different skin color or not of the same race. I pity these people because they think they are the favored ones or the superior ones, what they don't know is with what they are doing makes them the lowest form of animals because of their weak mind that they obviously show. Well this is just my view. Take care and have a nice day!

Well said faith. These people are strange. They say they may go to hell for what they do but that won't change them. Clearly they are willing to face anything for their twisted belief. I think anyone that far out of it doesn't deserve to enjoy society life like we do. But then what can we do.

All I know is that those freaking red neck skin heads need to just live together in some remote area. They have no reason to hate people that don't have white skin, it is just ignorance and tradition that needs to stop. I personally hate all skin heads.

hm... nice discussion man ... i can't say for sure that all officers (black and white) that they did it without any problem but almost sure all of them had no choice about it ... if it happened to me i'm sure that i will have no choice too ... and as you can see i'm from Brazil and here the political correctness (i think) is the worst ... even the president is racist he is affirming that black people is more stupid than white ( not with this words ) but reserving places on university for black people that means that he is calling them stupid , that they can't enter the university with their capacity ... forgive me for leaving the subject =)... but it is just a point about racism i don't know how it works on your country ... maybe it's iqual here in Brazil

I think there will be racism in every country but it is terrible tht your President is racist or any official member of the government.
What do the newspapers say about his racism, do people protest it?

Someone else had mentioned the worry over a riot breaking out. If that happened, it's likely the offended people would get hurt as well as the offending people. I imagine the policemen on that job tried to think of it as protecting the public, rather than defending the idiot skinheads.
Freedom of speech has to apply to unpopular speech as well as popular speech, or it wouldn't be freedom of speech at all.

I think all that these so called "White Power" skinheads, and all these KKK and all these groups are just wanting something to do to call attention to themselves...People are People regardless of race and they are here and will always be here, and nothing these groups do will EVER change that,so they are fighting a losing battle..They are trying to create HATE,but it just isn;t going to happen..I would not do it is i was BLACK,White, or whatever, and enjoy it .Maybe the police have to be there but im sure it is just to keep the peace,Im pretty sure they are not enjoying it..I don't understand How they can get away with this.It should be against the Law....

A couple years ago they had a rally in toledo, ohio and they got there day in court just to get to have their rally they caused a big riot and they all ran and hid like little kids when a large group of african american men confronted them.
