How goes your Online LIFE?

Are you the kind of person who spends and hour or 2 online per day, or even per week?
Or are you an online addict, one that cannot breathe without an Internet connection, and has his computer ON from the moment he gets up until the moment he/she falls asleep?
Or are you a moderate user, with a daily usage but not in the extreme?
Well, obviously I am of the 2nd kind - the one that cannot live without the Internet, and would really like to know what type of Internet users are the majority on MyLot :)

I'm a pretty hard-core computer junkie, personally. Most of my home life is spent on the computer and even much of my work life I'm on the computer there (nothing fun to do on those ones though) I used to game a lot online until recently. I quit in hopes of getting more time away from the computer, but no such luck thus far, but at least I'm being more productive with my time on here so it's a step in the right direction.

Welcome to the club than Evanpoe :) Joking obviously, but as long as you enjoy this addiction, all will be well, and wishing you good luck with being more prodictive and getting more done, as I am always lacking in practicallity online, having so much to do and ending up with lots of it NOT done :(

You could say that I'm a moderate user but if you're going to ask my husband, he's the one who needs the Internet as much as he needs the air he breathes!LOL
I'm usually online for more than 3 hours. And as much as I want to do it everyday, I just have so many things to do at home. I usually go online at nights when my chores are done and my son is already sleeping so that I can surf the Net without any interruptions. It helps too that I'm a little insomniac. I can stay up late during nights and can still wake up in a decent hour.

I agree with you. Our skin suffers the most when we don't get enough sleep. Whenever I look at the mirror, I see a woman who looks haggard and my face is just begging me to go to bed in a much earlier time. I'm really trying to do that because I don't want to experience one day that others might mistake me as my son's grandma and not his mother!!!LOL

I spend a lot of time on the net trying to earn money. I have so far found some sites where u can earn money totally free. There is also a site where u earn in auto whenever ur PC is connected to the net. Of course, I still haven't come across an opportunity which will make u a millionaire. But, i am still trying...

Terallion, thank you for your answer, and most of us are earning money on line in order to cover our costs for hosting, and more. But the question was actually - how long do you spend online per day, and are you a hard-core addicted Net user, or a moderate one?

Well I don't exactly get myself in front of a computer when I first wake up and until I go to bed, but pretty much there..LOL....I do a lot in front of a computer...write stories/articles, scan to digitize my slide images, putter around my photo website, develop other sites, come here, go to Yuwie, look up material or research..so yup, am pretty much in front of a computer all the time...not that I'm complaining... :)

An Addict, mos def! I spend 8-10 hours online everyday. I'm trying to get an online poker playing career off the ground you see. When my ISP messed up and I was offline for a week, I went bananas.

I'd go nuts without my internet! Everyone I know tells me I'd be lost without it. LOL I read message boards in the morning instead of the newspaper. Most of the time I'd rather be online than watching tv. My pc stays on from the time I wake up until my oldest son goes to bed. He gets some extra time after I go to bed. LOL

Thecatzmeow, you sound like me, but I am addicted on the SF channel as well, so I have my settimes to watch some, and than I'd rather sleep less than do less on teh net, or stop watching what I love :0

Dear TerryZ it sounds more thanh OK with me what you are saying in here, and at times I wish that I could separate more the ON and OFF line life but I am not really capable of drawing the line between the two...LOL

Thank you Wdiong for your reply :) and the moderate use is preferable in many cases, LOL, so, as long as you are happy while using the Net and your computer, moderate or hard-core - as long as you are happy and fulfilled it doesn't matter really

Well I think I could quite easily become an addict, but the fact is, I work full-time, and I'm ont allowed Net access for personal use during working hours, so my access is really quite limited. I tend to check my emails during my lunch-break, and then maybe two hours in the evening after dinner, in much the same way as some people would relax in front of the TV in the evening.I don't really care much for TV, so I surf the Net instead. I spend more time on it at weekends, but atill have to get the shopping housework etc done, - so I would say I am a moderate user - who aspires to greater things if I ever had more time - LOL!

Dear Rosie, you better don't become an addict, you'll regret it as i do :)
But than again, I have no job, and if you come to stay at home like I am doing it will be inevitable - me thinks :)

Good for you Mrsbrian, as I am the same if not worse, and it so much an addiction to me that if I leave the house for more than a few hours I have my notebook with me...can't imagine what to dfo without the possibility to stay on top of things, but it gets tiresome ...

HMmm, I would say that that I'm a moderate user. My eyes cannot stand the long hours of staring in front of the computer. However, when I have the time and when I'm really into something, then I usaully sit in front of the PC for hours and not even realize it. Case in point: I have been sitting here for almost 4 hours now LOL! I'm seriously thinking about taking a break!

Hi Teleios, this is really a hard thing to do at time, but we all have to moove away from the PC's or notbooks, we need a break, even if for only 10 minutes. As it is proven and a fact that while behind the computer for hours and hours we could inflict ourselves injuries... hard to do but we have to move :)

I have my internet on all the time with cable internet. I spend time on it at work to distract me from boring work but I also spend time on it at home when I'm bored or distract me from whatever it was that I should be doing. But if I had to go without I wouldn't be too upset for too long.
But I definitely need to have it. I think i'd go crazy not having it at all!

The Internet has become part of my daily life since my job involves the Internet and I also have an Internet connection at home. But I cannot say I'm addicted to it. I'm more like a moderate user, I guess, as I can also 'diconnect' myself from time to time.

Thanks for your answer Littlefish, and I think the best option is to not be addicted, 'cause once addicted it is very hard and tough to get off it...try to keep this in mind, and stay off the addiction :)

i used to be a light internet user during the days of dial ups.
But since broadband connection prices became more affordable, and my home was hooked up with broadband of unlimited usage, I've gradually become a heavy user.
i won't say I'm addicted to the net, but with unlimited usage, i surf a lot more than i would have previously.
I do internet banking, e-ticketing, social networking, started blogging at http://betshopboy.net
The possibilities of the Internet are infinite, I'm just scratching the syrface

Yes Betshopboy, in those days I guess very few of us could afford to be heavy users :) I like your blog too and good luck with your online endeavors :)

Hi Malyck
Nice to meet you, and nothing wrong with how you go on with your Online life - I should try to limit my Onlie time, but am unable to, really. Got to run now, and try taking some rest, as I need to be awake and be able to get with my cat to the veterinary in 6 hours.
