Do you shop at thrift stores?

Do you think thrift storees are yucky? Wearing someone elses clothes? Or a chance to show your unique side? I love thrift stores, I found more things I like in an hour or so then a day at the mall. And I get at least seven items of clothing that's pretty, soft, unusual, artsy made of quality material - all of my criteria - for under forty dollars. The last time I shopped at one I got about seven items for under thirty dollars. Many times I find items with the original tags still on them. ARe you willing to, why do you like them? Why do you not like them, pride, aesthetic, think its gross to put on something else put on? Ashamed to even walk in - afraid you won't find current fashion (its there)?

once in a while we will go check out the thrift stores and see what they got. I dont think they are "yucky" at all. sometimes u can find some really nice stuff there. they have all kinds of stuff, clothes, furniture, toys and sometimes I see vehicles there.

I occasionally (usually when I remember!) shop at Goodwill. I usually look through the women's clothing - but have a hard time finding anything that will fit me. I have purchased many things for my kids though. Kids outgrow things so fast that you can find some really nice clothes for a very low price tag!

Almost everything we own is second hand, I think its our social responsibility to reuse and recycle as much as humanly possible, and whilst we will always want a few new things so many things can be bought cheaple and in excellent condition second hand that it seems totally daft not to.

I go to thrift stores to only buy things to sell on Ebay,I don't always find things but just sometimes I find something that is worth taking the risk in putting it up on Ebay but I don't really look at the clothing.

i love thrift stores because the prices are good and you can sometimes get stuff that is really cool and in style (which is what my 14 year old loves!!) Why pay $40- for a pair of jeans when you only have to pay $4? whose gonna know how much you spent? i love thrift stores because i am more boho or elclectic in my style choices and generally find stuff that i like there...i also am able to generally find new stuff and stuff for the house there as well... one thrift store i went to had a half price sale on purses and shoes...i got a BRAND NEW PURSE (wrapper still on it) which was marked at $2- and got it for half price, not a bad deal at all!! i have also managed to pick up a few antiques at one thrift store and have resold them on ebay or have kept them to add to my collection here at home.

I love thrift stores! I get about 60% of all my clothes from thrift stores. So many have not only used clothes but new stuff that has been donated from local stores. Many still have the tags on them. I don't even mind getting things that have to be sew up a little as long as most of it is in tact. Considering the cost of clothing today it's a great alternative to save a little money. I've also found great old patterns and fabrics that I have made into some neat clothes, old jewelry with awesome glass beads that I've turned into new jewelry just all kinds of great stuff. My mother is the true thrift store addict. She goes about once a week. I only go a few times a year. I dont' mind used clothes. I always wash them when I get them home anyway so they're clean. I'm not into a lot of the newer fashions and I have my own style so I just wear what I like. I've never been a fashion mavin.. LOL

Hi artemis432! I di frequent thrift shops and get a real good bargain for clothes. I bought my winter clothes on those thrift shops when I went on a trip to London. Its very cheap and also it is because there are no winter clothes available in malls here in our country which is a tropical place. I am not at all embarassed or ashame to enetr and buy stuffs in thrift shops, after all it is still a liegitimate business. take care and have a nice day!

I do! My fiance and I got super tired of ruining all of our good clothes. He owns a construction company and I am one of the painters. I am usually good about not being messy with the paint, but there's always a drop of paint that comes from nowhere...lol. He likes to get his work jeans from there too. I have found lots of good things there too. We got a really sturdy 4 drawer filing cabinet for $15.00 after buying one from office depot for $60.00 that is a piece of junk! I have also found designer dresses with the tags still on them as well as really cut and in style children's clothing. They do have a lot of new items from when a nearby store closes down too and the prices are great! I love it and I don't care what anyone thinks. I love a bargain:)
