A college degree is definately important in todays society. Education is how you get to the point of making great changes in the world, many have risen to work for the world but without the degrees they could not make a difference today. College degrees open doors for employment, the highest paying jobs are held by people who have completed their studies.

It depends on how talent are you? so you can need college degree or not. For me, I don't think college degree can make my job is better, my life is better even I'm not talent person in some special subject. I can work to earn for enough living without college degree. All my qualifications have been forgotten in my mind. I don't remmeber anything that I learn from school, but the things that I learn from life becoming my experiences, my study. I use them everyday to deal with all my problems in life, in work, in relationship. I don't try to talk bad about studying at shool, education, but it is my experience.

I think it's needed; women make 10 times more money if they have a degree.

it depends what field you want to get into. In some fields it would be to your advantage to have a college education like computer security, business, and many other things. some jobs you get farther with having the years of experience. Unfortunately I chose the wrong thing to do and got the college degree with the wrong major. now i work at a job making less than people who never went to college but have way more years in the profession than me. It's quite sad. I am currently trying to switch careers.

I've always found that very interesting, the amount of high-up people in our society that only had a secondary education, and yet it seems so important these days that we go right on to tertiary. I guess it depends on what sort of area you want to get into and whether you want a 'job' or a 'career'.

Due to present global phenomena education is necessary and degree is a must for atleast for an offer with BPO. During past times no as such developments as of now , so no requirement of education . But nowadays due to more media and communication education particularly minimum of degree is absolute necessary for all to overcome the present criteria.

I think some kind of after high school education is required, university, not specifically. * University is very expensive and well out of reach of many kids. There is community college, online education, business school, and various trade schools. All of these options are much less expensive than the traditional four year college. There is more focus on the education. Less on the parties.

I don't think college degrees carry the importance that they used to. Just because someone has a degree doesn't mean they know their job. I have run across quite a few "educated idiots" in my career with Washington State. Experience should count just as strongly as a degree does; the vast majority of jobs can be learned by on-the-job-training with no formal education at all.

Absolutely! Education is a tedious, steady process which one must endure and sacrifice to finish so as to gain a better life and a brighter future. Aside from the effects of the global economic crisis looming over our horizon, I believe that life is more difficult for undergraduates and out-of-school youths; particularly for one to land in a decent and lawful job. Just like you, I also strived hard to finish my studies in college. There are so many temptations and hindrances one meets before finally reaching the top. In fact, I had vowed not to engage myself in a serious romantic relationship until I haven't graduated from my studies; even if I had a few suitors when I was still in school. Fortunately, I was able to fulfill this vow and I graduated right on schedule. Modesty aside, I didn't experience much trouble or problems regarding having a job. I was even contacted by a local firm to work with the company. This was my first job and I stayed there for a little more than 5 straight years. Anyway, I noticed that you made this topic or discussion 2 years ago, more or less. But I also noticed that you've only replied to 40 discussions, to date, so I assume that you're away or you've been away from mylot community for quite some time. I hope you'd come back soon.
