Ok, so before I go to work, I just had to post about something that really annoyed me yesterday. I was walking from Barnes and Nobles meet my husband at Game Stop in the strip mall beside it. As I was walking, 2 guys in an SUV started whistling and yelling all kinds of jibberish at me. They were even hanging out of the car. Even if I wasn't married, that isn't going to impress me. Why do guys go to such lenghts to try and get a girl? I mean, it was completely annoying and they were being so loud people were looking at me like I had done something illegal. Pshaw.:P

some people find this flattering. I had an aunt that thought it was for her. I never cared to have some guy wistling and hollering at me. I found it insulting. some guys are so crass.

This kind of behaviour is as old as the world. i am afraid it will never end, either. Unfortunately there are a lot of men that don't have a bit of 'inner civilization' in them (there are also women of course who don't have that...) Ignoring is the best treat you can give them, from your point of view. Never make eyecontact, or you're lost int more yelling and whistling. As for being married or not: that has nothing to do with it. As for being young or not: likewise. I am 55, and still get whistled at, and I am NOT Miss World - although my husband seems to think so LOL....

At least your husband thinks your Miss World.:) I know it doesn't matter if your married or not, but it just particularily got under my skin yesterday.

I hope they weren't drunk. There is no excuse for that behavior. I've had that happen a couple times, not exactly in the place it occurred for you. But it was not flattering, it was insulting. I share your annoyance.

Holla at ya girl! Oh man I hate this too. My friend and I were walking home in Baltimore city from our friends house to her house (it's like..2 blocks or so) and it's like 11pm and these guys do that. Stick out their heads and holla! I think they called us bunny rabbits or something. we were like wtf!? We always just ignore them, especially in Baltimore city cause it's not like we claim it to be a safe place. ha ha. But yeah, I don't know. Sometimes I don't think guys are actually really trying to hit on you, more just make you feel stupid, when they do that stuff.

LOL! Holla back youngin' whoo whoo.:P Cat calls and stuff used to happen to me and my friend all the time. One time at the mall, these two dudes came up to us and were trying to pick us up and it turned out we were way older than them and they thought we were skipping high school. I was already out of college and married. They were super skinny and one of my thighs was bigger then both of their hips combined. My friend was told in high school that her butt looked like 2 midgets wrestling over ham. Ha ha! Boys...

Oh man that's funny. It's hilarious when you get hit on by real young kids who don't realize you're older than they are. Fortunately I avoid a lot of the places that would have people who do that kind of stuff because it's just silly to me that guys are that idiotic. Us women should start cat calling to them!

That's a really good question! I hate it when guys do this. It is childish and immature and I don't know what kind of girl they are looking to attract with that kind of behavior...certainly not a girl like me because I would never go for it. I want a man, not a man-boy. Maybe guys just do that to be stupid, I don't know. I hate immature guys, though. That's one reason I always dated older guys because then I could actually go out with someone on the same maturity level as me.

I know, right? Why would they think a girl would want a guy that is going to be hanging out his car yelling at her? Immature!

Immature--- it’s all I can think of- I also hate it when people make scenes like that- I used to look at them- and Say- “As If”--- Men are bad sometimes…You could always say- what are you looking at.

Men are so desperate for attention sometimes. They make fools of themselves just to look macho for a girl that's not interested.:P

I know exactly how you feel. This kind of behavior from men has always irked me. They are being rude and disrespectful and it makes me sick. They think that it is a game though. I would like to know how they would feel if someone did that to their mother or daughter. Some men don't have enough sense to think like that. My attitude is, What makes them think that I am in the mood to hear that crap? Then, they wonder why they get such a bad rap.

You know, you are so right. Guys are very protective of moms, sisters, and daughters. How would they like it happening to them? I'm sure they wouldn't be too crazy about some guy cat calling a female relative. I normally don't let it bother me too much, but it really got to me when it happened. My husband didn't care for it too much either. He's protective of me though. Guys like them also make me wonder what they would be like if I had been all alone in a parking lot. I guess it makes me nervous for stuff like that to happen, even though I'm pretty togh and can handle myself. Men can be so unpredictable.

The best way for me to put it is that they are just ignorant fools, and honestly in their own reality believe that this kind of behavior is acceptable amoung a normal society, it really sad if you think about it. I hope they do not decide to reproduce, I do not wish to see younger generation of these kind of people.

I think these immature guys just wanted to show themselves, maybe to prove they are men who like women. They didn't want to impress you. Actually they wanted to impress other men around them.

Possibly, but there were no othere men outside to show off too. They were just a couple of guys trying to be cool for the ladies. I don't go for that.

Some men are just real idiots. Some men think that by acting like a baffoon that that is going to impress a woman, but it does not. I do not know about the rest of the ladies on here, but I want a man with a brain.

oh those kind of guys....they are generally single because they can't get a girl or married and their wives are totally unhappy. Its a dumb guy thing. I've never understood it. I would never look twice at a guy that acted like that. Most girls would not. Maybe some guys on here could explain the mentality behind such behavior.

I get attention like that all the time, not to sound conceited. It's very annoying though. I mean, it helps my self esteem but at the same time it's kind of like "Shut the f*ck up and stop wasting your time!" :D It's ok to check someone out but that kind of behavior is completely unnecessary. It's embarrassing too.

Sigh... Sorry about your plight. I'm guessing this kinda thing only occurs because of male ego trips or because they are really attention starved. The thing to do is to ignore them completely. Don't even give them the satisfaction that you even remotely recognize their existence. Sooner or later they'll realize they need to talk to women in a more civil manner in order to have a chance of getting their recognition.

I normally find it to be childish when guys do that to me, but for some reason, it really got to me yesterday. I didn't even turn around until I was almost at the store I was going to meet my husband at, and that is when I saw them hanging out of their vehicle. So childish.
