Have you ever been curious about how many illegal immigrants are in your state. Using the resources with are there for the legal residents. Taking jobs therefore causing legal residents having to file for unemployment.
Are you surprised? Is it more or less than you had thought?
The 2005 estimates of the number of illegal immigrants in each state. The Pew Hispanic Center estimates that the national total has since grown to about 12 million. The numbers are in thousands.

I wonder how in the world they come up with those numbers? If they are illegal they wouldn't be registered would they?
Really curious how you count them.

The informrion comes from the PEW Hispanic Center who follows the patterns of Hispanic population growth and settlement across the United States.

That's great. The more the merrier.I wonder how they can count the "illegal" immigrants and they can't count votes correctly.

ok if we do thins in the 1.000 that means nevada has around 200,000 illigals right?
I know this must be it for ever where I go to order something I get spanish people that cant talk English of any kind or very little English. And it really isnt that Americans wonttake the jobs that is offered it is that the illigals get them before we do and the Americans dont stack several families in on house thats the only way the low paying job people can servive I still think the people that hire illigals should get a great big fine and maybe they would stop hiring them!

When it just has a number and not a range, I think they are probably low. When they give a range of numbers, they are probably closer.
My state AZ is listed as 400 - 500; but, are they only counting the ones that stay here or all the ones that pass through.
If they are counting the ones that pass through AZ, they are definately low.

Wow! So many. I noticed some state have far more illegals. Would this be because they are easier to access?
Our biggest & most notorious detention centre, for illegal imigrants, & those waiting to be assessed, as just closed down.

I did not know we were as high as we were, but I shouldn't be surprised as that's the only crew I see doing lawn maintenance, construction and roofing. Have you followed the latest happenings in New Jersey? If you have, you'll know why that number is so high.

If you go back far enough in history, we are all immigrants.
The illegal part of that is determined only by the laws of the people already there.
If we truly followed the Constitution of the USA, immigration would fall under those in-alien-able rights granted by the Creator. As such, they can't be taken away by man-made laws.

I don't see where I am proposing anarchy.
I am talking about a law that supercedes man-made laws. A law that doesn't recognize imaginary lines drawn on a map
The founders of our country recognized this higher law.
From the USA Declaration of Independence...
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
It is morally wrong to deny a decent living to another human being.
That's what I said and believe. You can read into it anything you want.

If you go back far enough in history, we are all immigrants, huh? What about the American Indians, that were here LOOONG before the white men? Next time try to get your facts straight before making unfounded comments. My two cents on this subject.

We are living in the present not in the past. I abide by the laws currently valid for the USA. I am an immigrant not to far back in history but came to this country prepared to be a citizen and follow all the rules. I am now a proud naturalized citizen of the United Sates not a criminal such as those who do not abide by man made laws. I am absolutely shocked that you seen to be proposing that we should live in a lawless society. What a absolutely ridiculous argument!

Ha, my state is 30 to 60, well I am willing to bet a good portion of those are at Churchill Downs, where the derby is held.
I do have to say we seem to have a lower number of them compared to other states. Reckon I should count my lucky stars.

125,000 to 175,000 seems like a lot for Pennsylvania. Probably that's because there don't seem to be any where I live although thee is a little area a few miles away that is loaded with Turks and I often wondered if they wer legal or not. The businesses are owned by Turks and they seem to hire only their own countrymen. I guess I just think of illegal immigrants as being Hispanic which might not be accurate.

The numbers given in this report are strictly Hispanic calcuations but there are illegals of other nationalities just not nearly so many as Hispanic.

I am infuriated at the number of illegal immigrants. I work hard every day and see my tax dollars going to support people who are here illegally. Yet many of our own are hungry, homeless and in need of assistance. I see elderly each day who are choosing between medicine and food.

No white, sadly I am not surprised. I live in Illinois and when I saw the statistic for our state I hate to say I thought "That's it? I thought there's be more." Because if you look around it seems that we are being over run by non English speaking illegals. Nice to know what my tax dollars pay for.

I think that around 400,000 is a lot that is about the same as what is is here in Georgia.

Hopefully with some luck all the states will catch on to using those dollars to sending these people home since the Government can't decide what to do. I rather see it go towards that than paying for their living exspenses so they can continue breaking the laws in our country.

I don't want to give the impression that I am in favor of illegal immigration, I'm not. I specifically mentioned "non English speaking" illegals because they are the ones that especially get under my skin. At least if they come to this country and learn to speak our language that gives an indication that they are here and interested in being a part of our culture, and not just here to drain the Public Aid system dry. At least once every other month my boss starts in on me about taking Spanish classes so we can further our insurance agency's business. I flat out refuse. If you can come to this country and get a license to drive and own a car you should have to learn to speak the language and pay taxes like the rest of us.

Pretty darn scary, but I think there is a lot more in my state than they have listed. It seems that everywhere there is a foreigner. Maybe we should just count the customer service reps that answer phones...that should give a fairly accurate count since I haven't found one yet that can speak unbroken english.

Aaaww... I didn't pay attention to the "the numbers are in thousands" part, and I was thinking that either your list was completely wrong or I was really uninformed about your situation! Hahaha!
I know a few people that went to the USA illegally. It's still the favority destiny of illegal immigrants.
