This has been a question for me since I started trying to make money online, a penny, a penny, signed up for some sites and use a lot of time to do research, then when you finally join them, you have to go crazy to look for referrals! Writing blogs, exchange blog, get traffic, do you guys think it is really worth the time to make money online, I have invest lots of time online, more than 4 hrs a day but it seems I don't get any success at all, can anyone point out what i did wrong?

Well, you have to decide how much your time is worth to you. If you feel your time is worth $10 an hour but all your Internet earnings only add up to about $1 an hour, then it might not be worth it. I'm here for fun, so that works for me - and I also get a few little payments and that's fun too. I do a lot of surveys, e-mails and points sites - again just for fun money. Basically you aren't going to get a lot of money for free, but some pocket change is good.
Now, there are legit businesses out there that you can use the internet for and make real money. I have a couple websites that send me leads for my business all the time. It's work, and it's a real job, but my hours are flexible and I control how much money I make.
Again, it all depends on what you want to do and what you want to get out of it.

it is really impossible to make much money online if you have a job.you can just make a extra money online and do what you like online.for me i join in mylot most for making friends online and improving my english writing,i don't care about the earning from online.

well, i only make money online as a bonus or extra income... i think that we can never live on from online income unless if we do an online business or really have the skills... i myself am quite satisfied with what i am earning from the internet every month even though it is not much... but money is still money, isn't it??? :-) i believe if i am patience enough, my income will grow one day...

I don't know - it can be hard to make actual money online. I have done some freelance writing, which made good money (about $2000) for awhile, and I've submitted worksheets to worksheet websites, which made me about $110, and I've done other things.
Right now I'm just doing little things, as the bigger things require a lot of energy that I just can't expend, and I've made a bit of money.
I've made money at reviewstream.com, I just requested payout at Helium.com, and I've gotten about $20 from here.
I don't think you can quit your dayjob unless you find a really good niche.

It will depend on how much time you're spending for what. If you spend 4 hours to watch TV, you won't get anything. But if you spend 4 hours that you're used to watch TV in order to make money online, it will be worthy.

Can't tell you what you have done wrong because i experience the same things you have. Finally I just enjoy myself with mylot, make whatever money I can and look for outside interests to make money.

For the money it is certainly not worth my time. I don't really do much with a lot of money making sites, only about 3 or 4. None of them pays anything worth while for the time. I never can get referrals, for example I have 10 here and none of them have ever done anything here other than sign up. So for me it is the discussions more than the money here and the other sites it is something I was doing anyway so I fugure I might as well get something for it. Of course I may never reach payout on the other sites. I have gotten one small payout here.

Even I tried desperately to make money online. But it has not worked. I definitely feel it is not worth the time we spend on net. one should definitely look for something else other than making money online.
