Yes, I love it, I feel it is more than a career, but a spiritual calling. I've been at it almost 30 years now.

I am so excited to find someone here with similar interests! I am not a doula but I have a strong interest in being one one day. Actually I feel a pulling to be a homebirth midwife one day!! I have always been fasinated by birth. As a child I would check out books on pregnancy and birth while others my age where getting story books lol. I am very calm and nuturing and love to help others. But I'm also a bit shy and not sure if I would be take charge enough. I feel very strongly about issues such as homebirth, attachment parenting and the like. Right now my time is devoted to my little ones and homeschooling them. Perhaps when they are more grown I could persue it further??

My personal opinion is the best midwife is one who's children are already grown...

Ihave heard alot of good about Doula's. I had C-sections wiht all 4 of my kids, and i am not having anymore. I wish you luck.

Boy i sure could of used you while I was try ing to get my youmgest daughter to br. feed. Shes two now but that was the worst i cant tell you how many times i cried with frustrastion. Good Luck
