Yes, if they are in good condition,I think you should if you are getting ready of stuff, there are always people who can use your old stuff.

I donate to Salvation Army all the time. I will not donate to Goodwill, I don't think it is right to charge for things that are needed. salvation army gives things to needy people. I think that when something is donated to go to needy people it should not be resold, they should give it to those who really need it.

your point is also correct too. but what if Goodwill sold those thing and then use the money earned to support the needy people in terms of food/ medicine/clothing? what's your view?

I give all the clothes my kids outgrow to goodwill, as well as clothes I either can't wear or don't wear anymore. I figure that there has to be someone out there who needs them worse than I do. I also do a lot of my personal shopping there.

Since we don't have any thrift stores in our town my first choice is to give the clothing my kids outgrow to friends. If no one needs the I will try freecycle.
The diabetes foundation does a free cloting pick up in our area every few months. After you donate the first time they call you a few days ahead to see if you have anything that needs picked up. Then you leave the bag outside and they come around and pick it all up. It's really convienient.

Some items I take to a resale shop but I donate the majority of unwanted items to Goodwill. All of our pre-loved stuffed animals go to the battered women's center so they can be distributed to the children who come there with their moms for whatever reason. It drives me crazy when people throw away nice, clean, usable items because they are too lazy to drive to Goodwill!

Yes and the local rescue mission as well. We live in a disposable world, if someone can take the things I no longer need/want, and recycle them all the better. Our land fills are filling up, people discard perfectly usable items all the time, when they could be put to use by someone less fortunate.

Yes, I donate everything to Goodwill because it is where my uncle who is retarded from a vaccine he got as a baby got his first job and I believe in helping people who are retarded and handicapped to be productive citizens and also because I like the 20% off coupon they give me toward my next purchase!

usually I wear clothes or use items until there's no wear or use left in them, can't afford to waste money so I get every ounce of use outa anything I spend my hard earned money on... I have socks with holes, stitched up shorts and shirts so threadbare they're translucent but I still wear`em lol

Yes. A couple of times a year I go through my clothes that I don't wear or don't want anymore and I donate them to goodwill. if I can't use them then someone can.

Yes I do because someone's trash is another person's treasure and I hate to just throw things away. Its nice to recycle things that are still in good shape.
