You would be something else as well as negative. Blood type consists of two parts.

Well, that is weird then. Sorry, I say thgis, RH - is rarer for sure, but there has to be another component to your blood. Maybe the medical people mentioned the RH - bit, & left out the other.

I am o+ as well. My first husband was A-, son is O+, I think my daughter is O-. My current hubby is a charmer, his personality and blood type match, he is B+. I had understood that O blood types were less common than some others.

Blood types are vary depending on your ethnic background, but I am sure 0 is the most common(in our white anglo saxons). o+ that is. A is nearly as common.
o- is a universal donor, & less common, but your daughter would be sort after for donations.

I am A+. ( Hitler's favorite Aryan blood type what a great (!!??) recommendation!!
BTW I just received email notification of this discussion only 12 hours after the fact. I suppose I should be grateful that at least I got one!!

I didn't know Hitler had a favourite blood type? I knew he favoured certain physical characteristics. What did he think was the advantage of A+?
I wonder why you are getting your notifications so late?

Hi jennybianca! Yes, this is somehow interesting when you really think about it. We do all have blood running through our veins but it differs because they are all categorized in letters that I really don't know why. Haha.. My husband and I are both type O-. My father is O and my mother is O+. I think O blood type is what they call the universal blood because a lot of people have these type of bloood, right? Take care and have a nice day!

0- is a universal donor, so they really want that blood for the blood bank.
0+ is not a universal donor.

I am 0-. I found this out when I was pregnant with my first child. The docs had to give me that special shot to prevent the baby's blood from mixing with mine.
Before that, I always assumed I was an 0+.

It is the - part that is less common. If your baby is +, there could be a problem without the treatment.

I don't know mine, which is amazing. I would have thought through all the tests and medical procedures that have been done on me, somehow my blood type would have been spoken aloud to me. But no, I don't have a clue. I could give blood, and they send you a letter with your blood type listed, but I'm 90 percent sure they won't take my blood. Which bums me out because that is on my life's to do list.

Everyone has a + or - in their blood type.
It is likely that your Mother is A too.

I don't know how true this is but I heard that you are either a copy of your mother or father in blood type. Say someone's mother is A+ and father is B-, their children are going to be either A+ or B-. I wonder if there's any truth in that. I heard it on tv many years ago, I think it was on rescue 911 or something like that where a girl called her mom to ask her what blood type her father was because he was ill and her mother told her which she jokingly said you must be such and such and her mother got quiet and that's when the chain of events got started and she found out that she was adopted. What a way of finding out, huh?
Anyway, I'm A+ and my husband is B-.

I don't think this is entirely correct, as you are a combination of both. So with your example, of two p[arents, A+ & B-, their children could be:
A+
A-
B+
B-
Or, if BOTH parents have 0 as a recessive gene, they could have a child with 0+, or 0-.
My hubby is having DNA tests to see if his son is really his!

AB is extremely rare. Even more so if it is AB -, rather than AB +.

Sadly, I do not know what my blood type is. I do know that I have RH negative blood. I lost my first baby from having the RH factor in my blood.

I am sorry this happened to you. It used to occur a lot with RH - blood. Nowadays, Tests are done & this problem with mismatching blood should not occur.

My blood type is AB, I have heard that its very rare. Thtas why I have second thoughts on getting ssick and blood transfusions cause it could be very expensive to find rare blood type.

AB is very rare indeed, particularly AB -, which is rarer than AB +.
