What should married couples communicate for marriage to last forever?

I think marriage is a mixture of ups and downs.In the first year the man talks and the woman listens. In the second year the woman talks and the man listens.In the third year they both talk and the neighbours listen.
How do you think couples should best communicate?

for better communication, i think first couples should be good listeners. if one of them can not or not willing to listen to the other one, communication can be blocked. second, i think they should talk one by one, showing respect for the other side, or there might be a fight after all. third, communication is mutual. after quietly listening and good understanding of what the other one has said, one should respond in a serious way. forth, couples should talk with each other about eveything, big or tiny, to let the other one that you respect them. when you make decisions, at least you should let them know it instead of doing all yourself, or the other one would feel he/she is not so important in your heart.
