Do You Believe in Psychics?

I have always believed in psychics because they were mentioned in the Bible. There are those who are genuine and can see into the future. My favorite used to be Jeanne Dixon. She had a remarkably good track record as far as predictions went. She supposedly even tried to warn JFK not to make the fateful trip to Dallas in 1963. In later years I have followed Sylvia Browne quite a bit. Also there are a couple who frequently are guests on a radio talk show that I listen to. Do you believe in psychics? If so, who is your favorite?

I do believe in psychics but most who are marketing themselves are simply out for money and are frauds. If you listen to their answer subjectivly, you will see that the response could fit many many people and if you truly believe something will happen - it will. Someone who continues to say that they will never drop 50lbs....will never drop 50lbs. Someone who believes that they will fall in love in the year 2008 because a psychic who they think is honest told them so...they will in fact probably fall in love in the year 2008. Its alot of schooling, reading, and the power of suggestion that allows the fake psychics to continue spreading lies. But, with that said, I do believe in true psychics as they do exsist, they are mentioned in the bible, and they already say we only use a very small portion of our brains so....why can't some be able to tap into the other parts? I think real ones are hard to come by and it can be hard trying to really see who is real and who is not. As for a favorite, I don't have one. I don't know if Sylvia is real or not but I often watch her on Montel as I find it entertaining and I think she has good character.

I see your point, jennysp, and agree that there are many charlatans out there. That is why I always look for something concrete to go on , ie. their record when it comes to correctly predicting coming events. I think this is a foolproof method of determining how true a psychic really is.

Edgar Casey is the only person I am convinced did have psychic ability. He only ask for donations when he did readings (much to his wife's dismay, they did not have a lot of money). I believe we all have some psychic ability but rarely quiet our minds enough to benefit. Have you ever passed someone on the street, made eye contact and feel fear, get goose bumps. I have, this is psychic ability, we just don't know it. The TV psychics, pure bull and I think a great sin to fool people, especially desperate parents.

Hi worldwise1! Yes that is true, they are mentioned in the Bible as visionaries or prophets. I am simply amazed and fascinated with them. Sometimes, they are featured in our local tv and I do watched the entire interview on them. I really don't have favorites at this time. But they have this special kind of gift and somehow I envy them because I really wish I could see the my future or the predict the winning lottery number. LOL! Take care and have a nice day!

We must open our minds to all the possibilities in the universe, faith. That is how we expand our knowledge and learn. I also believe in the Bible when it speaks of prophets and visionaries.

There are people out there with a sixth sense. Unfortionately, there are a sea of charlatans. It would be hard to find the pearl amongst the jellyfish. * One good clue is the real owner of the 6th sense like Edgar Casey do not ask or want money.

I agree with you, CC, that someone with a true gift will not be driven by greed. This is what turned me off about a psychic that I had previously had a lot of faith in. When I saw the amount of money she charged for a reading, plus proceeds from her many book sales, it diminished her in my eyes. I don't believe that someone who is blessed with the gift of prophecy would be self-serving at all. Edgar Casey was truly a gifted man.

I don't believe in them at all. I believe in cold reading though. If you study cold reading you will see how they come across as though they are psychics when really they are scam artists.

I will admit that there are many who are scam artists out there, whywiki, but I must say that I am not addressing only personal readings here. How, then, do you explain predictions of great disasters? World-changing events? I don't believe for a second that predictions that have been accurate in these matters are made by someone who has no psychic abilities. I do believe that there are more things under the sun than we could ever dream of.

yes i do believe in them.years ago i had a reading by this psychic that always went to the mall to me and i went to her and she only asked me for my name and my birthday.and boy i was so surprised how she knew alot of stuff about me and my family and my future.she told me i was gonna have twins, and a hair salon, and that my father was gonna have cancer.i know we dont want to hear the bad stuff sometimes but she was right on the dot with me having twins, but i had another child too,and i did have my own salon for 6 years, and sadly my father was diagnosed with cancer 1 year after the fact and passed 4 years ago.so she was very amazing to me.but there is a few out there that just tell you a bunch of bull, while some out there are really gifted, and luckily the one i found was gifted.her names was patti antares.

With so many wonders in the world, 3lilangels, why wouldn't it be possible for some to see into the future! I find it hard to believe that people don't believe there can be real psychics. Nostradamus during the 15th century, made many accurate predictions, some leading up to the present day. I think that people who don't believe just don't have the imagination.

I don't believe in psychics. I think it might be possible to get glimpses of the future but I don't really think you could look into the future at any given time. Of course I don't know too much about stuff like that. It does interest me though so I might check it out.

Yes, Cait, I believe that you should check it out. There are many more psychics than the ones that have been mentioned in this discussion. I suggest you might start with Nostradamus or Edgar Cayce.

I looked Nostradamus up on Wikipedia. It was pretty interesting. I think I'll look into it more. Thanks!

No, my mother and father used to go to them and they only told them what they wanted to hear, but they did not tell them the truth. No one wants to hear the truth. Psychics are not worth it, and as Claire Benette says in "Heroes", "The future is not written in stone."

Maybe the ones your parents visited were not true psychics, rogue, but there is irrefutable evidence that some psychics are real. I have studied this for many years and they go all the way back to Biblical times. True, the future is not written in stone, but I believe that some things are fated to come to pass.

I do. I have seen many shows and I actually met one once who could tell me things about me and my life that were so right on that there was no way she was guessing. I am sure that there are alot of frauds out there as well - people that just wanna use people for money!

Yes, I do believe in psychics and I do I remember Jean Dixon very well, and she was an amazing person,--wasn't she also the one who predicted an assassination of a pope? That could have been the attempt that had been made on Pope John Paul,...no?-- and yes, I now like to follow Sylvia Browne's books as well. I think my all time favorite still has to be Edgar Cayce though

Yes, pyewacket, you are right on all counts. Dixon did predict the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul. A psychic does not gain such recognition unless they have made a number of good predictions. You are right about Edgar Cayce . He was very good at what he did. His feats in healing were amazing. I have studied Nostradamus in depth(I have two books about his work), and he clearly saw into the future. I think that sometimes the best of psychics can miss the mark, but it is the track record that counts the most.

no i do not believe in psychics although i do believe in the bible... i believe the bible is a very trustworthy series of books, and also, some events are even proven true...but i have never heard anything about psychics... it may be due to so many so called "psychics" which really arent and pretending they can see into the future which put a bad name to the people with the true ability to do so... i have heard stories, but until i experience it myself, i seriously would not consider it a possibility. also, i think the JFK assassination warning thing may be just a conspiracy or luck, even just a rumour

You need to go back and read your Bible more thoroughly, mini, you will find references about seers, prophets, and visionaries included there. Jeremiah, Ezekiel, John the Revelator were all prophets.

I do think that there are people who have strong feelings about things and possibly do have visions. I know i could be at home sometimes and it will be complete silence or i'll be watching tv and all of a sudden i'll look over at the phone and it will ring. Or i can usually predict the next song coming on the radio at times. I watch Sylvia Browne as well and she seems to be very good at what she does. I would say i believe she is psychic. I just don't understand though how she does it when she's on Montel Williams. He is just picking random people out of the audience to ask her a question and she taps right into their pasts. She doesn't ever get them confused with someone else? I didn't think you could make yourself have a spontaneous vision like that, but maybe I'm wrong.

Yes, ranitam, I have always been interested in exactly just how psychics do what they do. I know for a fact that the law enforcement community often uses psychics in their investigations, but they don't usually publicize this fact. Some must be very good or they would not be called upon. Sylvia has a good record, but I have also seen her miss the mark. She predicted that the Britney Spears-Kevin Federline marriage would produce two children and then come to an end. She really nailed that one.

everyone is a psychic because we humans are composed of mind, body and spirit which can give us an access to the third dimension, where there is no physical boundary and time. our mind are composed of conscious, subconscious and unconscious. unconscious is where we are asleep and most of the psychic activity are done.

I couldn't have said it better, nueveh. It is mainly our fears that hold us back when we are faced with the unexplained.

Hi everyone, 12/30/2010 I have gone to Patti Antares for about 30-35 yrs ago. Everytime I would hear of a physic fair she would be reading at, I would try to go, & hope she wasnt booked up. She is amazing and writes everything down for you. You can always go back & read the things she has said and at the time she writes them down, sometimes they may not make sense or be familiar, but sure enough it will come to pass. When you have a physic reading by a true physic you will always feel this relief or calming feeling afterwards, at least I do. I had a good friend and true physic Kurt Kiewel, from Toms River, NJ who passed away 3 yrs ago this comming Feb. I dont know if anyone out there knew him, but he was incredible. I miss hime terribly. I wish he would communicate with me and I am sure he will someday. There was also another physic named Rebecca Patterson who passed several yrs ago and she was also for real, God bless her soul too. there is a physic named Roxanne Williams from Bayville and she is truly for real. If anyone knows of a For Real True Physic who makes private appointments in the south or central Jersey area please email me I would really like to know,(also reasonable price)I know they are worth every penny, but I am broke.thanks Kathy Kelly khill870@cs.com thank you
