i had a fright last night. i was so scared and i was shivering.
i was in our boarding house and me and my female boardmate fell asleep in front of the tv. i was under my blanket from head to toe. my male boardmates just finished drinking outside and one of them was so badly drunk that he was pestering me and my officemate. although i was not really responding and pretending hard to be asleep. my boardmate woke up and too bad for her. he kept on talking to her and even said he knows im just pretending to be asleep. that's when i started to get nervous and my breathing became abnormal. though i tried so hard to keep it normal. he went inside his room and then came back again and asked my officemate same questions, like am i really asleep or just pretending... he went inside again in his room and came back again and asked the same questions and he was being persistent and impatient.
you know when we sense danger and we get so apprehensive right? i felt like that. i was so sure he was going to harass me and my boardmate. we got so alarmed that when the guy went into his room, we immediately got up and ran inside our room. because we knew he was going back.
we locked our room and god! i was so scared. im afraid of drunk men who acts as if they are possessed by the devil. i was shivering and i felt so cold. i couldnt sleep until it was past midnight.
when did you last feel so scared?

Luckily everything worked out fine and no one was hurt .
The last time I was scared was last summer . I had went to bed after waiting up half the night for my husband to come home , he never showed and so I decided to go to bed . I had locked the doors , and was just drifting off to sleep when I heard something like someone hitting the side of our house . Nothing ever happens in our area but it didn't change the fact that my heart jumped into my throat . I was so scared I couldn't even get up to go get the phone to call someone for fear that if there was someone outside they would see me . I spent half the night sitting up shaking trying to hear if I could hear anything but I didn't hear anything else . The next day I told a few friends what I had heard and everyone was sure it was my imagination , when my daughter who was three at the time came to tell me that the man looking in her window was scaring her last night . I never did find out if it was just her imagination as others said it must have been but was worried enough that I covered up all her windows so no one would be able to look in her windows again . Most figured it was just her imagination and didn't believe I really heard anyone or that there was anyone near the house as we live in a remote area where things like that don't happen but I still believe there was someone there and my daughter was very persistent in saying she was scared to go to bed , so she ended up sleeping in our room for a couple of nights until she forgot what she was afraid of .

yeah, we were lucky to get inside our room so quickly before he got back. and im thankful he didnt try and follow us and knock on our door. that would have been more scary. ~.~
i havent been on a situation like that but i think you should have had the courage to get the phone and call the police. that was a grave situation that unknowingly to you, involved your daughter. but i guess, fear really does weaken a person. good thing nothing bad happen to you and your daughter.

I would not be fearful of a mere man because he was drunk, secret. I would have told him where to get off. Why are you living in such a place where you have to be in fear? That low-life needs someone to teach him a lesson. You should have had another of the men to talk to him. I have never been afraid of men like that. Maybe you should take a self defense course.

i actually dont get scared so easily. but im scared of drunk men who behave like that. who behave like they would instantly but slowly hurt you. my other buy boardmates went on their room already when that happened. i want to take a self-defense course but i dont have the time for that. i think if i just had something like a baseball bat i wouldnt have been scared. ^__^ i just felt so vulnerable then.

First and foremost, i would never live in a boarding house that allows drinking within its premises. I too is afraid of drunks who just let those booze get into their heads and muddle it. The last time that I got scared was when i was with my daughter and the jeepney that we are riding almost collided with another jeepney. I hate when that happens and I am with my child because i get more scared.

its actually not allowed. my landlady was out so my male boardmates got pasaway and had a drinking session. but if moderate drinking is allowed, I wouldn't blame our landlady for what happened. I mean, she didn't know that would happen did she?
its really scary to be in an accident. i've experienced it a few times. and most of the time I was alone. its really an added scare if you're with a love one since you'll also be fearing for his/her safety.

I cant remember when was the last time I felt so afraid. But yes your experience is scary the fact that you dont know what's on his mind. Sometimes when a gut get drunk you wont know what will he be doing so be cautious. An evil is already on his mind so you have to be careful. So be more careful next time.

It'd probably be back when I was a kid. There were a few things then that really did put me in danger so being afraid was obvious. Nowadays I find myself worried about close loved ones and not myself. Sometimes I do feel they are in danger if they take a long time to do out of sight errands, or if they don't return quickly.
Yea yea i know, "worrywart!!"

its natural for us to be worried of our loved ones. and its the love that makes us think first of them than ourselves. ^__^

The last time I felt so scared was when I travel with plane to another city. As you know, there was a lot of aircraft accidents here and it's so irritating finding yourselves in one of the most dangerous airplane.
I pray hard and I hope the plane will fly safely to its destination. Know what happened? It went into a storm and shockingly, the plane rumble for a while. It was so scary! Like it was going to crash. The wind outside blew so hard. :( All the passengers panicked and shocked. Some children cried. The next thing happen, the plane starting to calmed down and its arrive safely to its destination the next 1 hour. Phew...... it was once in a lifetime experience.

Drunk Men are very agressive at times , I think you did the right thing , maybe you should move especially if he drinks regurally , cause they can be very unpredictable ...
Good luck ...

he doesn't really drink regularly. it was just because of his birthday that they did some celebration. and during other times that he drinks outside, we're already asleep in our rooms. it was just that night that we fell asleep in front of the tv and he chanced upon us. ~.~

You know that is really scary. I have this experience that someone is following me when i once going home. From my office to our house. He looked so scary. I don't know why is he following me. You know was near to an accident that because i am running away to him, i was near to hit by a taxi. I just change my way ahead to our house and safely went home. I wished i will never see that stranger again. I was nervous and frightened for my own safety.

Samtaylor just reminded me of another time when I was deathly scared. This was when I was living in my own apartment. I lived on the first floor and there were bars on the windows. I still slept with the window open because we had no ac. This night I was in the bed by myself, because my bf at the time stayed up playing video games. The bed was right under the window in that room, and I could always see shadows of people walking by between my window and the streetlight outside. Well, about 4am I turned away from the window, and peeped through slitted eyes to see that someone had their head between the bars of my bedroom window. I screamed at the top of my lungs, and my bf rushed in to see what was the matter. I told him what happened and he rushed to the backlot to see if anyone was out there. I sent a voicemail to my friend in another part of the building to see if she would let me borrow her hammer that she kept for protection. (I sent it instead of calling because I thought that she was still asleep.) She called me back about 5am to say I could come get it. I slept with that hammer under my pillow for a month!!!

that surely is scary! I don't know if I'd still be able to scream, i'd be probably be so scared and be tongue-tied and ran off. did your bf see anyone or anything?
I would probably sleep with something of a weapon too after that. ^__^;; I prefer a baseball bat. I have some batting skills since I was a softball player when I was stil in school. I'm just not sure if i'd still have the guts to swing it when I'm taken off guard. LOL

The last time I felt scared was earlier this week, although I do not understand why. To set the background for the incident, I have to tell you about my children's father.
We haven't gotten along since he left me after 5 1/2 years to marry someone else. I finally got over that, but he still won't see his kids. I have talked to several of his family members and gave them my cell phone number so he could call to set up something to see them, but he hasn't called. He hasn't seen them since last Halloween.
Anyways I was entertaining a friend when the house phone rings, I go to answer it, and the caller id says US Govt. I know I'm not in trouble with them, but it has to be important so I put on the professional voice when I answer the phone. A voice comes back saying my name, and I swear it sounded like the kids dad. My heart caught in my throat and my soul fell to the floor! I had never given him the house number, for fear that another family member would answer and I would never get the message. Him calling alone was a shock, but on the house phone was even worse!!! I had nothing to say, and I was mad that he can still evoke a reaction in me. I squeaked out a "yeah?" when I did come to my senses. Luckily, it was just my grandfather calling to see if my grandmother had called from work to say she got off early (He had the car and was supposed to pick her up)
I do not know to this day why I got scared when I thought it was him, maybe because I didn't expect him to call at all. But it was a sure fright when I did think it was him!!!

i think its really scary if people would call you and you know you didnt give them your number. actually not scary, suspicious is the better word. that's why i hate the police department, they seem to know every phone number in the world. LOL

The last time I was scared was just a couple of days ago when I had a nightmare for the first time in years. I run being chased through the woods by someone with a knife and it just felt so real. I woke up breathing heavily as well. That is a scary thing when dealing with drunk people. You never know what they will do next.

i've had that kind of nightmare too! and worst, it was my cousin chasing me with a knife inside our house and I ended up in bed and she was coming with an evil's smile and I couldn't move even lift a finger! I woke up with so much sweat and I couldn't sleep again.
another nightmare was someone was chasing me and I was really afraid and we were running around and around a big bush. I ended up chasing him and I woke up laughing but my boardmates said I was making strange noises and they had to wake me up.

Hi secretbear, I understand why you felt so hella scared that night. I was also living in a COED boarding house when I was in college where guys is the big population but they never treated girls like that. Yes, drinking seasons was allowed in the boarding house but they know when to stop and when to push through. We had our landlady/landlord living in the compound so they monitored us. It was even merrier around when they were drinking because they were going to cook a lot of foods and they invited people in each room who are still awake to eat. I was in an engineering, architecture and sciences campus so expect that I have the most respectful to the most naughty boardmates but they always hig regards with women.
What give me the most scary nights in that boarding house was the room that me and my 2 other boardmates occupied because according to them there were some horror stories there. One of my boardmates who were occupying that room before with another girl said that there were couple of times when their radio had been turned on and off while no one is near it and their blankets are pulled down to their feet when they are lying down. During our stay, sometimes our things got lost in the place where we placed them. At first I look for them but later on I am already used to it because I looked for it the more that I won't find it; however, if I will not look for it after sometime it will just either be placed in where it was before or in our study table. At first it was really scary but later on we just find it fun. I was in that room from first semester of my 2nd year in college til I graduated. Maybe some of you won't believe stories like this but it was true, it happened to us.
