Or your tv, or your air conditioning? We're just about to get one and so I shall go. I have to say I love storms. Despite the migraines I get from them alot.

If its lightning then it goes off and gets unplugged. Not taking any chances. I don't unplug the TV and such, don't know why. Probably cause nothing major ever happens, and even if it did I really don't care (TV is slowly becoming a fossil in my opinion).

If it's going to be a really bad storm, with a lot of wind, I will usually shut down the computers and sometimes disconnect their power strips from the wall. Even with surge protector power strips, I still am a little leery of my computer getting fried.
That's usually all that I turn off before a storm; sometimes I keep the TV on so I can keep track of the weather. I do make sure to find a flashlight and some candles, though, just in case the power goes out.
