Yes, I have been asked to change the word pric* (as in pricking) from my response to a discussion on tattoos. I just thought it was weird. But I guess that word can be used for name-calling other mylotters so maybe it's justified. I just never thought it would be one of the "can't use" words here on mylot. I know there are more words that we never imagined would fall on that list. What other words have you guys been warned about?

Definitions of spi(c) on the Web: * offensive terms for persons of Latin American descent * immaculate: completely neat and clean; "the apartment was immaculate"; "in her immaculate white uniform"; "a spi(ck)-and-span kitchen"; "their spi(c) red-visored caps" wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn * The following is a list of ethnic slurs that are, or have been, used to refer to members of a given ethnicity (or in some cases, nationality, region, or religion) in a derogatory or pejorative manner. The term is listed, followed by its primary user(s) and a definition. --- There you go, it's like offensive for some members of the Latin America that's why it's not allowed. =)

I was answering a post about classic TV shows, and discovered that I can never fully spell out The D*ck van D*ke Show. I kid you not. That is ridiculous.

oh well, I guess we just have to laugh about situations like this. Whoever made the list of banned words have done it with good intentions in mind. People can get a little rowdy some time and a little control needs to be implemented. Thanks for all the replies..have a nice day y'all!

Well once while talking about a farm I tried to use that word that means mule, and yep I was warned. However duh me, I should have known that. Just I got caught up in telling my story about an animal and well.... I also know the story of Moby *you know the whale* is impossible to get posted as well. But hey what can we do? There are so many trolls that would just love the chance to use these against someone, it's impossible to allow them.

I don't know. I would think even trolls would have some sense of what context certain words were used in.

Some words light fires - Some words light fires under some MyLotter's chairs:(
Unfortionately, you've chosen a word that's been known to light a few fires under seats at MyLot. This word represents a nasty term for a male organ. Some here are very...touchy when it comes to such terms.

It doesn't matter what other meanings the word has. (My browser is really misbehaving today! Hence the multiple posts.)

They warned you for that? Even though it wasn't used as an insult, and meant something totally different? Haha, that's funny. You do realise that you just used that word again in this discussion? Tell me if they warn you for using the word "pr***ing", I could use a good laugh.

apparently, the word pricking is not on the list...or it has not been reported yet. That would be too funny if someone felt that the word pricking can offend anyone. Or maybe it can, who knows? Sorry to have cost you some laughs! LOL!

the mylot filters are not exactly perfect. they tend to be a little over zealous.
