How safe is your baby with ultra sound scan?

Many times I see mothers very excited about the prospect of an ultra scan to confirm the pregnancy, establish its stage or find out whether the mother is holding one or more babies.But how safe is it?

it is safe to have 2 or 3 ultrasound scans. more than that may be harmful for the baby. my doctor also insistead me not to go for too many scans during my pregnency

Many of us use this test. There is no harm if you do twice or thrice but too many ultrasound tests may cause harm. I am not from a medical field but too many ultrasonic waves passing through our body is not good what I read in some medical magazines. So don't use it often.

I think it is safe because it is done on the belly of the mother. So, I do not see how it would be harmful to the mom or the baby. I think it is totally safe.

My understanding is that the ultra-sound is a very safe test. I had this done with both of my babies. I had no fear about having it done.
