Thats human/everything instinct for you.
Its good to have instinct and to follow on it... when you need to.
However, it's also good to realize that you only have instinct, and you only have you and your family.. because you have this earth.
It's pretty selfish to trash it, or not care enough to try to help out a little.
Something only needs help when there's a problem.
And if youre not part of the solution, youre not part of the problem.

I suppose it would be impossible not to be in favor of saving the world so I suppose I would have to vote "yes", save the world. But I have a few questions...
What is it that we are saving the world from? Poverty? Disease? War? Humans? Are we saving it for ourselves or someone else?
My other question would be, do you have a plan? The world, as I see it, is what it is. Humans have always warred and poverty and disease always abound. We work to alleviate problems when and where we can, but as long as you have humans, there will be problems. And if there are no humans, then for whom will you save the world?

I don't think we can save the world from climate change, because the climate has been changing for as long as the world has been in existence. A lot of those changes were of direct benefit to mankind. Man has a lot more to find out and understand about how the weather system works before he goes fiddling with it. That might really bring a cataclysm.

Yeah, that sounds great. If there is a thing or two that I could do to help this world live a little longer, then I am game. I am not sure what I could do now to save it, so I will wait until then.
