Have you ever lost a close friend unexpectedly? How did you deal with it?

I remember I was close friends with my boyfriend's cousin. We were like family. I had known him for years and he was the sweetest guy ever. He had a great sense of humor and great talent for music. Every one who came across him liked to be around him. He just had this way about himself. We were really close for awhile until I went off to college and moved to a different town. I went home for Spring Break and I was with some other friends and had seen his car at a club. I wasn't dressed to go to the club and had to get up early to drive back to school the next day so I said I'll see him next time I come back or this summer.
That time never came, two weeks later I was in my dorm room when a friend called me and told me to sit down. he was shot trying to stop an argument between his female cousin and some guy. (It figures he would get killed doing something nice and being a gentleman). I just couldn't believe it, hear I am thinking I would see him in a month or so and hang out, but now I never go the chance to see him just that one time. I don't think that would've helped too much though because I still wouldn't have known it would be the last time I would see him and I still wouldn't have gotten out everything I needed to say.
Have you ever lost a love one unexpectedly and you didn't get to spend as much time with them as you wanted?

Yes once I lost a close, very close friend of mine unexpectedly. She was my friend for about 7 years. But she moved to another place for her higher studies. Even after that we had contact but suddenly what happened to her...I really dont know. Now I am out of touch with her for about 2years.
When our contact broke I cried a lot for her but slowly I accepted it.

I you have no such experience, has not lost any of an important friend, but I can understand your feelings, loss of important people in the kind of sad, but I believe that as long as he has to live in your mind, it will not really leave.

Oh I'm sorry Rani. I'm sorry you lost him and that he was killed for trying to do the right thing. Remember to keep him in memory and life part of your life for him/to honor him.
To answer your question I've lost a friend unexpectedly. Many of them. All through different means. Don't mistake me, some were not through fatality (moving away). Others however... I really don't want to talk about it.
It completely sucks and yea I feel robbed. Its selfish but thats how I feel. There's the feeling of powerlessness, there's also the feeling of "what if it didn't happen". Still, all of the negative aside, its great having known them and I will keep remembering them. I keep my lost loved ones and my current loved ones close to the heart so I can live and touch others.
