Have you ever lost a close friend unexpectedly? How did you deal with it?

I remember I was close friends with my boyfriend's cousin. We were like family. I had known him for years and he was the sweetest guy ever. He had a great sense of humor and great talent for music. Every one who came across him liked to be around him. He just had this way about himself. We were really close for awhile until I went off to college and moved to a different town. I went home for Spring Break and I was with some other friends and had seen his car at a club. I wasn't dressed to go to the club and had to get up early to drive back to school the next day so I said I'll see him next time I come back or this summer. That time never came, two weeks later I was in my dorm room when a friend called me and told me to sit down. he was shot trying to stop an argument between his female cousin and some guy. (It figures he would get killed doing something nice and being a gentleman). I just couldn't believe it, hear I am thinking I would see him in a month or so and hang out, but now I never go the chance to see him just that one time. I don't think that would've helped too much though because I still wouldn't have known it would be the last time I would see him and I still wouldn't have gotten out everything I needed to say. Have you ever lost a love one unexpectedly and you didn't get to spend as much time with them as you wanted?
