I rate positives on great discussions and great posts, even some I do not totally agree with. I'd rather award quality discussions some credit since they are much more fulfilling than predictable net discussions.

I hardly use it unless it is on my posts. I used to use it a lot, but then I was too busyuplussing or minusing to get anything done. It helps the other person get a star, and it does make the discussions interesting, but I found that people put minuses when they did not agree with you, so I figured they probably figured that your pay rate goes down. If I find a response interesting, I will plus it. But I seldom give a minus now, because of there are also some here who will give you a minus in retaliation for you giving them a mimus.

Well the guidelines help or hurt our ratings. Our ratings are included in figuring out what each one of us earn per post. So since the "FAQS" also reads to only use it when it's extreme, I don't always use it. If it is extremely good as for point, I rate it. If it is extremely bad, I rate it. You should never rate a post based on agreeing or not agreeing with it though.
Here is a link to the DSR that tells you how they work and how to use them.

Hello there. I don't usually use the + - !. I've only used it a few times. I personally hate spammers. I hate people who go around pasting the same message (usually some promotional message) on all discussion topics. Even those irrelevant to his or her promotions. I think that is plain irritating.
