Would you rather live in paradise or visit often?

Would you love to live in a popular tourist destination near the ski slopes or beach? Do you think that you would visit the sights often? If you lived close to the beach would you go everyday? If you lived in the mountains, would you ski everyday?
We live within a stone's throw of the beach, or at least driving distance, yet I haven't seen the beach since before my daughter was born. You'd think that everyday here would be a party, but that's mostly for the college kids or people with way more money.
Mostly, we're just regular working people that happen to live in a really great place! We never go anyplace special or do anything fun. Boring everyday tasks have taken over our life and none of it is fun. I think the tourist enjoy my hometown more than I do. Sometimes I think it would be better to live somewhere else and then come back to visit. I'll bet I'd get to see the beach more often than I do now.
So, what would you do if you lived in a popular tourist destination like the beach?

You are lucky because you live in a popular tourist attraction place. If I were you I will definitely use the beach. You don't have to party every day like all the tourists. You don't have to have a lot of money to enjoy yourself at the beach. Just go there and enjoy the scenery is already considered a luxury to me, who live far away from the beach. Being able to go to the beach by walking or cycling because you are so near to it is also a luxury that even rich tourists don't have.
Personally if I live near the beach I would love to stroll along the beach and enjoy the scenery. Maybe I would go there during the evenings after office hours just to release tense and breathe fresh air. It is going to be one way for me to exercise, and make up for the day's hard work.

Thank you both for your encouragement! I should definitely get back into living my life. Since becoming a mommy awhile back I have not focused one ounce of energy into renewing myself or making myself a whole person. I am just working and living for her. And, after awhile, that takes it out of you. Don't get me wrong. Being a mommy is the most rewarding job that I have ever had, but it would be nice to get out and do some fun stuff like hang out at the beach or walk into the water's edge and enjoy the breeze! Our beach has always been my lucky charm. Just after seeing my first beach sunset almost four years ago, I became pregnant with my daughter. I waited ten years for that to happen and never believed it would. Now, that is some lucky charm! Wonder if it worked for others? To both of you, be well and thanks for dropping by.

Well, I would really love to live in paradise, no question about it. It will make me enjoy every second - the weather, the air, the sunshine, all of it will make me want to LIVE ;)

Visit, but not live. I love the city, a lot, and I love the excitement of the city. Yes, paradise is great, but it gets boring.

Since I can remember I always dreamed of living in Florida near the ocean where I can visit the beach often. I used to say that I would hit the beach every chance I could. When I turned 22 I actually had to opportunity to do so- and realized after the first year that when you live so near something- you tend to take it for granted- and say- oh I'll go tomorrow. I lived very near Daytona- and didn't visit the beach half as often as I really would have liked to. Not to mention- that when you live in this type of area- you become a local- and local in florida- STAY IN THE AIR CONDITIONING....LOL :)

I would probably do the same thing as you. I know with my busy schedule and tasks I need to do I don't have a lot of time for extra stuff. It must be nice living near a beach though. I would probably go down to the beach and lay in the sun and maybe read a book or do some work. That would seem cool and very relaxing.

I don't think that I would like to live in a popular tourist area. I would likely grow complacent and begin to not appreciate the area! I think I would prefer visiting often. Also, I know myself well enough to know that I would not deal well with the tourists on a regular basis and the crowds. Nope, I belive I'll be content to visit often!

I live in a popular tourist attraction because we are right on the water and we have the mountains in our backyard . No one skies in our area as the mountains are not made for skiing but going to the beach is a big thing . We don't go swimming but often have bomb fires and do this quite a bit in the summer with family and friends . I do like our area but not because it is popular with the tourist but because for the most part it is very quiet and a great place to raise children . In the summer it is a very busy place to be but still safe where one doesn't have to worry about their children getting into too much trouble or others being hurt .

if I happen to make a living by the beach then I will also live there. I'd like to live in paradise but all my life this seems to be a dream that will never come true so all I do is live in the city where I get a job or where my spouse resides.

I would rather visit than to live in one.. Maybe because I get easily bored with things. Like so I live in a paradise, I feel that I won't get contented with the peacefulness and calmness of the place. I want something diverse. If I live in paradise now, I would love to go to some place else.. in a city full of skyscrapers and all other amenities.

I'd rather visit. It's usually expensive to live in paradise. :)

I would love to visit paradise at regular intervals to charge my spirits and keep the motivation level up. We loose the importance of something that we have easy acces to so it should take some efforts on my part to visit paradise and keep life exciting.
It should be an escapade when i feel lonely/ low/ down so that i can visit and continue th emundane tasks with much efficiency and greater interests.

I don't like to spend my time in tourist destinations. My family except my mother agrees with me. Why we waste our hard earned money just for 3/more days leaisure?

I would just want to visit. Can't see myself just staying. I'm one that always prefers some sort of work (even my unofficial volunteer work here on mylot :))
Plus I actually like my career and would probably be too wrapped up in thinking about it to enjoy the sites and resort. Yea, yea, I know "Pro! Take a vacation!".
