Yes, I like to cook and I make sure that I clean those equipments I use. I also worked on a fastfood restaurant, so I apply our "clean as you go" rulings!;)
I think this ruling shouldn't be just for kitchen, but should also be applied in every aspect of our life!;)

I can see why you picked raijin as your best response Laurla, that is how I am too. Whether I am cooking, doing crafts, or whatever, I clean as I go..

Sometimes, but not always. Usually I clean when all is done. Anyway everyone has his own way to do things. It is very natural, I think.

I love to clean, not cook when I am at home with my family. But when I am at school, I have to cook and clean all by myself. Anyway, I cook simple food, which is all I can do as I am a simple man. lol

I agree that its very natural to do that. Some days when I'm not in the mood to clean as I go..I wait until its all done just because I want to enjoy what I'm cooking. My husband has a different theory...cook and don't clean up at all. lol

I guess it depends on what I'm cooking. If I'm baking, I usually clean up. Mostly because I need the counter space to cool the cookies, cake, etc. Canning is the same way. When I'm making dinner, however, I wait until the last minute to clean up. I suppose it's because everything goes into the dishwasher anyway (Most things anyway) with dinner dishes. So, I wait until dinner is over before I clean those up. Silly, huh?

Well I guess I'm kind of different on this as I have to have a clean kitchen to start with before i start cooking. And while I am cooking if I can take my eye off what I'm doing I wash as I go if not I wait til its all done. I also have very little work space and cannot stand clutter.

Hi, each person has their own choice and prefernce regarding this, as some would like to finsih all the work and then clean up, some would do it along side, some would not do it till the next day! So it all depends to whatever suits the person and what best fits into their schedule.
I for one was taught by my nmother to keep the kitchen clean at all times, and most importantly before you leave the kitchen, it should be neat and clean so that whenever you return next to the kitchen, it should welcome you in. Same way, i prefer to cook up for the day and keep piling the things in one corner of the wash basin, and when i am through with my cooking which lasts about an hour or so, i close up the cooking range etc,and shift over to the wash basin and do up all the dishes and leave the kitchen very clean.
I normally dont do the dishes alongside my cooking, as that would divert my attention from concentrating fully in my cooking ( which i feel is needed, as then alone can we make up a good, tasty meal for our family ). An d if i do the dishes alongside cooking my hands need to be kept on being washed, as i dont think its right to wash with the same hands and cook with them too.
So, it all depends on what suits you best and what you are comfortable with.

I try to clean as I cook. We have a small kitchen and we don't have a lot of counter space. So it is a must to clean up to make room for what follows.

I was never taught to clean as you cook, but personally, I kind of prefer doing that. I don't like having a big mess when I'm done, so whenever I get done with one thing, I like being able to wash it and let it dry, that way, after the meal or what not, I can just wash the dinner dishes and a few left over things and be done with it.

Yes many times I do. Usually the obvious stuff like remnant ingredients or misplaced utensils are what I focus on. Sometimes I've cleaned pots while cooking. Its either that, or I've cleaned enough or I'm cleaning immediately after cooking.
