Let's take a minute out of our day to dream!
Once I got out of the emergency room from my almost heart attack from hearing the news the first thing I would do is turn off my telephone and sit down with pen and paper to figure out how much money I am giving to each of my three kids and my three grandkids. Of course the grandkids money would probably go into bank accounts for them since they are all under 18 years old. I would have to put a big chunk away for myself so that when I die everything would be taken care of and then I would probably tell my new b/f we are going on a week long cruise. Luckily I don't have a lot of bills or anything like that to worry about so it would definitely be cool to do that.
Your turn! What would you do if you hit the lottery for $50 million?

Wow!... 50 million would be more than I need to do everything I want to do.
I would buy a 2 million dollars house in a Sydney posh suburb. Get brand new furnitures and all the gadgets I can think of.
I would buy a 2 million dollars farm for the weekend right out in the bush.
I would buy a sport car... or two. And a 4x4 for the farm.
I would buy and marry an attractive young sexy woman with a pre-nuptial contract.
I would buy a house for my mother and one for my sister.
And then I would enjoy myself until spoil sport God gives me an heart attack. Quite frankly... I would need 48 hours day to do all the things I want to do.

And what a nice dream of winning the lottery huh? so the first thing I would do is assuming I have now the money on my hand, I'll pay all my credit crads in full and rip them off. Like you, I'll grab a pen and a paper to so I would know how much would I give to my siblings and to thier children,I'll give mom and dad a big chunk, probably buy them a farm and a car.
I'll put some in the bank and then I would travel, oooppps I forgot, i will resign from work immediately after..LOL

Wow, well first I'll deposit a portion of it on my bank account. I'll give some money to my family. We will definitely go on a family vacation most probably in Europe. I'll buy some real estate properties as investments and I'll give some money to charity.

I would pay off all my bills. Then I would give some to my close family that are always there for me. I would build a new house for my family. Put some in each of my children's bank accounts for college and other things. I would buy a minivan with 3 rows and a dvd player also an RV thats drivable so we can travel around the US. Then I would have another baby in about a year from now. Also put my oldest daughter in some kind of school once a week so she can learn to socialize with other kids her age. Probably dancing and horseback riding lessons. I think thats about it.

if i hit the jackpot in the lotto, i would by me a house, car, food, and i would give money to my immediate family members. it is so nice to have a lot of money. you could do a lot. i would stash the remainder of my money in a bank so it would grow even more with interests. some of my money would go to the charity. some of my money will go to my retirement. oh man!! this is awesome. i wish i could win the lotto so that my dreams would come true.

buy a new vehicle.
fix up our house, sell it,
buy a new FLAT house (sufering from major knee problems!)
help out both sets of parents
put money aside for kids college/ etc
go on a trip (notice i didnt say travel) i would go somewhere for a short time prolly somewhere warm during the winter...
then relax!

50 Million... sounds sooo unreal.. a little too much, maybe..
but for the sake of dreaming... let's dream then...
1) Pay the house loan
2) Pay the car loan
3) Pay whatever other loans
4) Pay off my parent's dues (they borrowed quite a bit for us, the children)
5) I miss my 20/20 vision - so i would go get my eyes fixed (laser operation, something)
6) Fix my mom's small house and turn it into whatever she wishes it to be...
7) Buy my dad a car
8) Buy back my mom's small piece of land
9) Buy each of my children some kind of (land)property
10)Put some away my children's college education
11)Give some to my dear brothers, my parent's siblings, my mom-in-law, my sis-in-law and nephew.
12)Quit my job.... ?... maybe.... But i would like to set up a business of my own...
After i have done all that... in most probably in that order.... I will share whatever balance with my dear husband and let him do what he wants with it..
(.... as long as he does not get me tied up with any new loans and debts.. :- )
thanks... for the opportunity to dream a bit today...

A lot of people talk about starting their own business and I think that's an awesome idea. If we want to keep working it may as well be for ourselves right?

Yeah... most times we work so hard, but let others enjoy reaping the "fruits of our labor".
I have a lot of freinds who have ventured into running their own businesses - it's not easy, either.
I heard + read somewhere it's better to invest - rather than run a business. If ever you're not happy with the business performance - you can always 'pull-out' or sell your shares.

I think if we really thought about it everyone would make some sort of at least a small investment. That would be the smart thing to do right?

This is true...
First i would donate a little amount to charity..
Then i would clear all our loans in the banks...
I would send my brothers to States for their higher studies
Deposit some amount in banks and distribute among our brothers and the LION SHARE would go to my PARENTS
and yet remain leading a simple life..
Thats all

every one says that they would by a house or a car and so on but every one knows that is not the first thing you would buy.
those things take time to buy and the money can take a bit of time to get to you, I have the answer to what a person would really buy first.
if I just found out I won that kind of money I would empty my wallet in front of me, go to the shop if there is more then £30 in it, then buy all the boze I can and then tell all my friends to join me for a drink.
if there is less then £30 then I would most likely just kill over from the shock.

the first thing i would do is to donate one half of the money to the charity. in my country, the disparity is still a big problem,so that is my duty to help them as much as possible.besides, i don't need that a amount of money.for me, one half is enough....

If I won 50 million bucks, I probably would faint first, lol. Secondly, I will pay off all my bills and my lovely families bills. Next, I would hire a top-notch person to get the paper works done and get my sister and her family here to the US. After that I would save money for college and start some college savings for my brothers. And than spend, spend, spend, and save and yes invest in assets!

Pay of my college loans, pay off my parents medical expenses. Purchase me an inexpensive car and an inexpensive house back in my preferred college district, budget out enough money to pursue my bachelors, then masters, then ph.d, invest some in stock market, and put the majority that's left over back in to live off of interest and investments, while going back to school...

The first thing I would do is hire an accountant/investor so I would never be poor again.Going from $14,000 a yr. to $50 million, needs a lot of thinking. I would of course pay all my bills and all the bill collectors.I would put away enough so my son would never be poor either once he was old enough and living on his own.I would buy a house and then go on vacation with my son.The house I would buy would have a huge fence with lots of security.(as people would be begging me for money)Then I would make sure my sister,my mom,my BEST friends and the animal shleter I volunteer at would also get a cut.

I've had this daydream a few times over the years. Among other things, I decided I wouldn't tell anyone about it other than my accountant. My children are still young, and quite spoiled with our modest income now, I do not wish to raise the next Paris Hilton.Nor would I want every fake charity or 5th cousin coming out of the wood work for a hand out. I'd find ways to slowly siphon the money into our lives, without drawing attention. I love my job, so I have no intention of quitting even if I won the lottery. When my kids were ready for college, I'd let my account figure out a way to pay for it but let them think it's a loan or grant or something. Again, when it came time to buy a home, perhaps I'd fib & say I won a small jackpot & that I'd like to help them buy a house. They'd have a hella surprise when I pass & they find out they've inherited millions of dollars.

Well, ctry, I would share with the children and grands, just as you would. I would pay off my bills. I would then buy me a little country town and move into it. I would probably live out my days wtiting and reading to my heart's content. I think I've gotten too old to stray too far from home now.

No, don't ever think that! No matter how old we are there are always things we have never seen and done and should if we're given the chance.

I would get a lawyer or an account to try to figure things out. Then I would have a family meeting with everyone in my family..brother, sisters and their families. We would all go on a cruise together and at the end they would each recieve a check, with the understanding that it was a one time thing. The rest I would leave to my own kids and grandkids.
