Trying to Up My Rating...

Hi there - thanks for the colorful response. I never figured out how to make hearts...I always copied and pasted but I can't do that with my rating as it is at the moment! *sigh* Thanks for the tips! I have been working at starting and commenting on various discussions, and my rating has gone up rapidly! I've also earned twenty cents in a few day's time, so that is pretty exciting as well - for something that is just a hobby that is!

Hi there, thanks for the information. That definitely answers my questions about stars and ratings, etc. I am getting up there with regards to my rating by my name, and I'm logging on everyday! Another question - you know the "plus, minus, exclamation point" near everyone's comments? I was wondering, what does that do? I almost always give people a plus, and I hope that others would do the same for me!

I give a minus when someone only uses a word or few words in a response, or one that is irrelevant to the discussion. The exclamation is used when the person is violating MyLot rules.

The - & + are what the raitngs of 100/100 do. It's just the way other members see you as far as discussions, comments and or responses. Does not reflect the real us. That you'll also see when you reach the 100 mark here. Like my daughter says, you reach a ten your hot here. So she says I'm a hottie. HAHAHA.

Gather is a place where you earn points, which translate into gift cards to places such as Borders, The Home Depot, Omaha Steaks, or yes, even cold hard cash! Once you get five people to sign up under your referral link, or via a referral, you get a $20.00 gift card to Border's. I just became eligible for mine, and it should be here in a week or two.

Yes, I'm getting there rather quickly! My rating is going up because I'm dedicated to getting it that way. Right now, I'm obsessively commenting to all responses on discussions I've started. See where I'm at - nowhere near being done!

It is kind of ironic that you wrote such a helpful response to this question, and I thank you for that!

Giving out minuses for disagreeing is a violation of the TOS and should not be done. Plus it shows someone is mentally weak. That's my opinion. Sure you can negative someone being very abusive or posting some major trash on mylot, but you are not supposed to negative a comment you disagree with. You are really supposed to + it since it's with more disagreement that we get more posts and conversation.

I don't like scams either - I am trying out different ways to make a little bit of money, or gifts, or prizes, online. I have a lot of a little bit at several sites, but I'd be doing a lot better off if I didn't have dial-up. Such is life! Hi there - I guess responding to discussions frequently and obsessively is a good thing on this site. Between last night and this morning, my earnings went up from eighty some cents to over a dollar! I was really excited, because my earnings haven't spiked that much from me merely commenting on discussions and adding new friends. So I'm going to work on commenting on each and every response I've gotten in the past few days. Then I'm going to consider writing another discussion. But I'll probably check out other people's discussions and posts before I get too carried away working on my own! I'll check out your discussions right away, and comment, so that I can get some more good ratings!
