Do You Take a Nap in the Afternoon?

Hong Kong

Do you? How often do you do that? And how long the nape would be? I usually do it only when I got depressed or sick. I don't do it regularly because it would give me headache after I wake up. What about you?

I have never been a napping man. But lately, since i get up really early for work and get home at 4pm and have lunch then, i literally crash on the couch for 20 minutes or so if i sit down. Body limitations i guess lol.

I would normally take a nap when I'm feeling sleepy in the afternoon. I'm trying to cut down taking nap because I may not be able to sleep at night. The nap would usually last for an hour or 2.

That's true too! I usually can't sleep that well at night after a nap in the afternoon! That would ruin my next day.

Yes I need too, I think because I don't sleep enough at night, I'm busy doing other things that need to be done around the house (really the only time I can get them done sense my son is sleeping) and also do my online stuff.. I usually nap about an hour to two hours and yes I also wake up with headaches that's because you sleep hard when you do nap..

Right I hate the headache afterwards, it's even worst because I would be in really bad mood after a nap! *laughs*.

I seldom will have a nap at noon. If I have it one day, perhaps at that time I am sick and feel so uncomfortable.

Regarding your parents being early to bed and early to rise kind of people, and you being a late night person, maybe they didn't force youto sleep early at night, when you were younger, or you overslept during the afternoon or early evening, so were up late at night, there must be some reason. As otherwise normally, like for me and my family, we all generally do follow the same sleep timings maybe we are up an hour later than our kids and get up an hour earlier too, otherwise our sleep pattens are the same. Same way, as we aren't able to manage the scheduled 7-8 hours of sleep that our body needs, we sleep for 1-2 hours in the afternoon as well, so that the sleep cycle is complete.

I usually go to bed after 1 am and wake up wake up at 7 am everyday. These six hours are not enough for me, so I need an hour siesta to have myself energized again.

I love to nap. I am pretty sure I got this habit from my Mom. She always liked to take naps too. I love to curl up with my latest book and read until I fall asleep. I usually will sleep for about an hour. And yeah sometimes I wake up with a headache too :(

Right... I don't understand about the headache part! And it seems like after I take a nap, I would turn to a really moody (bad mood) person. Scary for the people around me *laughs*.

I would love to be able to take a nap around 2pm. By 3pm, I'm exhausted. But seldom do I get a job where I have that luxury. When I'm out of work, I always find myself taking a little nap then.

Hey wondericequeen! :) Yes, I do take a nap in the afternoon, that too on a regular basis, before I leave for my football training in the evening.I have my training for six days a week so you may assume it to be 6 days worth of naps ;) Well, the timing of my nap actually depend on my college timings as well.If I get home around 1 pm in the afternoon, then I might take a nap at 2 pm and wake up around 4:30 pm or so. Then I have to leave for my football training. Ah well, even I take a nap when I get sick or am depressed though I dont like staying depressed for a long time...lol Oh yeah! you are right...it gives me a headache too when I get up :( Cant help it though! CHEERS!:)

I used, too especially when I was much younger. Then I started to lessen my hour of taking a nap. And now, I am avoiding to take a nap even how sleepy I am. Because i am on a diet. I already loose few pound by doing so. And of course by controlling my food intake.

I go to bed at 12 midnight and get up at 5.30 a.m. I take 1 hour nap in the afternoon so that I get recharged to do the post afternoon work at office. Thanks and have a nice day.

I usually do it when I don't have anything on my schedule in the afternoon and I'm not working. I have health problems that make it hard for me to sleep all night long, so it really helps when I can take a nap. Otherwise, I would never really get any sleep at all. I usually sleep about one to two hours, but sometimes I only sleep or lay down for a half an hour to an hour.

Hello wondericequeen, I don't take a nap. I wish I could *sighs* I just don't have the pleasure to take a nap as no time at all for that. But last time whenever I took a nap, I will feel regret once I woke up and feel like I wasted so much time by taking a nap.

Hmmm, yes it will give us head ache sometimes.Napping is good idea but it depends on your timing.Between 1 or 3pm,when you naturally have a midday slump in alertnes is best.If you nap later you may have trouble nodding off at night.Limit naps 15 to 30 minutes any longer and you'll get into the deep stages of sleep, which will leave you feeling groggy.

Yeah. I take naps in the afternoons after I get out of work. Taking naps is the best idea to have when you get tired after working long hours. Also afterschool and doing homework, you should take a nice nap. All that help you to refresh.
