I love to go for boat rides. I was in the Navy, so I have ridden on lots of different types of boats. I was stationed in Italy, and the only way to get to work or to shopping areas was to ride a boat. My father has a boat that we use to go fishing and I love it!! He let's me drive, so I get to have fun playing around in the water. I would love to go to a place where I can ride on a wooden boat down a canal, but don't know if I will ever be able to do this.

I have ridden on a boat plenty of times.. In my country, there are plenty of lakes in all major cities, and I also live in the major city of my country.. So, whenever the weather is good, I take my friends along for boating, and if they are busy, I take my family along with me.. Its so much fun...

Shikara boat - Love to go for boating
Thats really nice to know.We also have a large lake in our city and its full of water now a days with lots of rains in our place. It has lots of boats of different shapes and sizes, all wooden though. There are the shikaras too, the motor boats, the rafts kind of boats too, paddle boats too, so we all have a whale of a time, as during weekends the lake is full of people, each one wanting a ride in the boats and its fun, as they make us take a big round the lake and see the scenic beauty of the place too. I have once been into the river too in a boat and that was surely scary as i was little then and very scared of boating and water in general. And we stopped at many places by the banks of the river and did a lot of fishing and had fun too, those meomories are ever so fresh in my mind still. I have even tried my hand at boating and it hurts initally but if you do it often you get used to it, and the oars we used were the ancient, old kinds, just to get to know the feel as to how and what the people in the olden times used to do. Its been a nice experience for me.
