Most of the time, i find it difficult to think of topics to start a new discussion here at mylot that for a few days, i just answered or responded to different discussions... i don't know why but i think i am more of a responder than a starter of discussion... which category are you?

Oh you are not alone. I try hard to think of something to start here on mylot but I don't always succeed. Usually I find things to respond rather to start. That's just easier for me and I could flow along with the discussions. I do find starting discussions fun and it's really interesting when I read the responses. I want to start more but I am brain drain most of the time.

To assist me in ideas for discussions I carry my digital camera and a notepad so when something occurs that says, this would be a good discussion I can write down a note and maybe take a photo or two that can be added as well. I am always on my toes for ideas of discussions.

I'm with you, I tend to respond more. I just don't like starting what I consider frivolous posts. But those are the ones that seem to get the most attention. So I'm trying to pick more upbeat, fun things to post about. Discussions started today? So far - nada, zip, zilch!

Hi there. Im going to agree with you on this one, it is pretty hard to think up a topic, for a post... Especially when you find out theres already one of its kind...

Most of time here Im a responder. I do run out of topics to discuss so when that happens I simply reply only.LOL There are those days when topics just fly out of my head! I sometimes wish this would happen more often. Take care!

I am a mix of both. I have days where I will start 10 discussions and respond a lot. Then there are days I do nothing but respond. My topics are mostly of my personal days activities and or experiences so I have a seldom boredom time where I can't think what to start a discussion on. But usually it's fairly easy for me to get one started. Keep up the work here. All in all I'd say I'm more the responder type here.

Yes. It sure is because there are usually topics already that are similar to what you want to post or start off with and hence being original is very difficult. After all, I'm sure no one would want to be reading and replying to the exact same topic from different people over and over again.

Hello aseretdd,
I am like you. I prefer to respond rather than to post a new discussion. It is just taking too much of my time to think of the topic and most of the time, whatever I think of, is already discussed by others. It is not that I purposely trying to copycat other's discussion but it always done unintentionally. Sometimes when people respond to my discussion, they will say..ah this is my third response for the same topic. I think the best way is to respond to others rather than posting a new one. I love to read other people's discussions and respond especially for my friends here *smiles*

I find myself answering more discussions and starting fewer this month, but the best way to find good topics for discussion is to read some book or surf the net, the questions will arise in our mind that we can ask here.

hi asertdd, when i joined here then i was like more of the poster type and i used to post discussions more often because i had a lot of ideas and new things to discuss here and it was like 3-4 posts i started daily and responded to as many as i could but yes first thing after logging in was posting a fresh discussion for me..it has been 3 weeks till then but gradually i am becoming more of responder type as even i am facing the same difficulty like you..whenever i try to start a discussion about something and i do a search for similar discussions most of them are all already been discussed here and then in just waste my time in searching but now i am opting for responding to good discussions so as to keep myself regular here and at the same time without wasting much time in searching for already posted discussions..but when there is something which i think has never been discussed here only then i post a discussion..and so my frequency for posting discussions has now decreased to 2-3 posts in a week..LOL..well i am happy with it too..because i don't think it matters if you are not able to start a new discussion here and if you are fond of typing here then you can even respond to so many discussions here and thus maintaining your score also..

Seems many people have the same feeling, easier to be a responder. Just like there are always listers and speakers, they supports each other. That's not bad.

It really depends on the day and my mood. sometimes I can think of discussions easily but others I am a total blank so I just respond to other peoples discussions.
