Today is our anniversary!

And what an anniversary it is! We have been married for 10 years! A whole decade! It doesn't really seem like it has been that long, but yet, I don't remember life "before."
We had an outdoor wedding at Hickory Hills Wildlife park. It was raining acorns on us, but we didn't care. The bees were after my bouquet, but all I saw was Aaron. I remember looking at Aaron and could almost see those little cartoon hearts floating over his head when he looked at me. (I'm sure he was thinking the same thing!) After these 10 years (and 3 kids,) we still feel the same way about each other.

First off, Happy Anniversary!!! 10 years is a great accomplishment!!! Sounds like your wedding was beautiful acorns and bees and all.
My wedding was very simple. A small ceremony in my fathers backyard. The sun was in my husbands eyes so I had to shade his face so I could see him. lol We BBQ-d after. But it was how I wanted it. We've been together almost 7 years now..married almost 4 and I wouldn't change any of it. =) I hope you have a great day!!

Grats Laurla on your 4 years as well. I have a 29 year old daughter that has given us 2 grandsons ages 8 and 6. Also a son thats is almost 27 now. My wife is my mate, friend, lover, and lifeline to this world. Almost 30 years of marriage for us and nearly 35 years together too.

Grats on the first big milestone time frame of anniverseries. I am about to share thrity (30) years with my wonderful wife come April. We got married in a courthopuse only. Not a single fancy thing at all involved. But we were together for 4 years before we got married. I married her for her money is what I tell everyone. We discussed getting married but decided against it. She got pregnant with our first of 2 chikldren and we finacially in a bind. Neither set of parents would help us as we were not married. So we rushed off getting married then her mom sent us a huge check to buy a crib playpen clothes etc etc. So I married her for her money. HAHAHA! Grats again.

Thank you xiuluoelly! Your time will come, just be patient. I was 25 when my hubby and I met, and we married 2 years later. It's an accomplishment, yes, but it's also a lot of hard work. I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

Thank you katkat! It was quite the accomplishment to get past that "7 year itch." (when most couples serperate.)

Hun and I celebrated our 43rd anniversary on Aug. 15... and it doesn't seem like it's been that long to me, either! We needed a judge's permission to get married, cuz we were so young... but we were more grown up than the 'adults' we knew. It hasn't been total perfection, but its been pretty darned close!

Yep--- all those vows MEAN something! We've seen each other at our worst, and were there with each other to share all the best!There are no secrets, even with our kids and the rest of our families... I end up sounding smug, I know, and I don't mean to... but all the family is pulling closer together and sharing openly... its the foundation that all else is built on!

Well congratulations. In this day and age that is quite a milestone. Much less still loving and adoring each other, Good for you and good for your children, they must be very happy and very well adjusted knowing that they have parents that are stable and still loving.

Thank you. We did find out one thing though. My Mom insisted that we put the top of our wedding cake in the freezer and save it till our first anniversary and then eat it (for luck she said) and anyways I got to say that year old frozen cake does not taste good. We ate it but it was not something I'd really want to do again. LOL

LOL Towey!!! We did that as well. We didn't have anything to store the cake in on the day of the wedding, so My MIL stuck it in an empty 5 qt ice cream pail. (we had ice cream sundaes at the reception) she stuck it in her freezer for the whole year.
When we took ours out, the poor thing looked like a road accident of somesort. All the frosting had dropped to the botton of the pail. (the cake just barely fit, and she put it in upside down.) We each had our bite, and decided that our first year survived better than the cake did. Maybe that's the purpose of that tradition?

What a sweet story! Happy anniversary!
My husband and I have been married for over 12 years (2 kids). We eloped at the county clerks office downtown and for our honeymoon we went to an R/C hobby shop. :P LOL So what if it was cheap. The ceremony was sweet (the clerk that married us had tears in her eyes) and I married the man of my dreams. That's all that matters, right? :)

Congratulations on your 12 years!! It sounds like you and your hubby had a wonderful time! Did you read Grandpa Bob's story of his daughter's wedding? They went to Arby's for their reception!
I think that's the secret to a great marriage... focus on that, not the wedding. We didn't have a lot of details and foo-foo things either. If we could do it again (we just may!!) we would do exactly the same way!

Good, finally despite all the bad news, I heard something wonderful from you and that makes me think that long-term love is possible! Congratulations on your anniversary! And I do sincerely hope that you guys would stay loved and happy forever. I don't have a love story yet, I will tell after meeting my boyfriend in real later this year *smiles*. But thanks for sharing. You know how to sad news are discouraging the young ones nowadays and I am always happy to hear people's true love story.
