Well I use to work in food service, but now I'm a cook in a retirement home. I can't pick just one thing that I like to cook with onions. They are a staple for me, as are peppers & mushrooms.

Yeah I reckon I do, just the normal ones. I love the flavor of onions in my dishes, cooked it best. I don't like them raw as much.

I do use onions in my cooking but I would not say that it's alot. I use the small red onions or shallots when I cook fried rice and spicy dishes. I use the white ones in boiling soup as it's gives off a sweet taste. I like to eat it raw when I dip them in satay sauce.

I use them in bolognaise and curries when I make them to fill them out, but I hate raw onions in salad and on burgers etc I always ask them to leave them out when I'm ordering fast food.
I prefer the flavour of red onions but rarely use them as they are quite hard to find in the super markets here.

I love onions and use them in almost everything that I cook! I use yellow onions for things like spaghetti sauce, chili, and other cooked dishes. If the onion is going to be eaten raw, I switch to a red/purple onion...as they taste better raw (in my opinion). I love a slice of onion on a hamburger and I love to cut them in very fine pieces and put in tuna salad!

Hmm, I think we use onions in a lot of the meats we cook in our household. Like with cube steaks we cook those in a bed of onions. Whenever we make meatloaf, onions are a must, and in the roast you have to use onion. Outside of the house most of our burgers and salads have onion, and you cannot have a Penn Station Philly Cheesesteak without them
We mostly use the yellow vidalia onions. I am not really sure why those over any other onion, but that is what I am used to.
I know people who can eat an onion as if it were an apple. I love onions in plenty of foods, but I don't think I could eat it alone!
Onions are a great source for antioxidants. You lead a healthier life when you eat a lot of onions, just make sure you invest in plenty of toothpaste lol.

I use a lot of onions in cooking. Usually the white ones but I also use yellow or red depending on what style/ethnicity of cooking I'm doing.
I think white and green onions are the ones I use most, with red trailing behind that. Its useful in a tone of dishes, plus it can be left as is, or steamed to give more flavor to a dish.
