I'm 19 and I'm frustrated with my physical condition, but do not think I'm fat. No, I'm not fat. I'm very thin. I'm so thin that I was mistaken for a broom (hehehe, just kidding!). But as a matter of fact, I was convinced by myself that my routine would have to change. That's why I ask for your help, mainly physical education professionals' help. I've been following a workout plan for 3 months. I do 20 push-ups, 90 weight-liftings, 90 crawlings, among other. But I don't know if I'm doing the right way I think I'm. I would just like to get some 40 pounds (20kg). But how is it possible? Do I must see a nutritionist? Do I must take a medicine? Trust me, I have no muscle.

I was like you when I was 18. Althogh I was actually inside my body mass index and not medically underweight, I looked skinny in society's eyes, because most people are either medium build or overweight! People would say to me 'you're so lucky to be skinny!' But I didn't feel lucky at all, it's no fun to be skinny when you are developing into a man.
I knew I had to eat more and I found this very hard. The biggest help for this was the job that I chose - I work in the construction industry. This wasn't a concious decission to make myself build up, I wanted to work in construction anyway, but you find that if you do a very acive, strenuous job you will want to eat more. I used to find it hard to eat breakfast and lunch but now I can eat breakfast, two lunhes and snacks in between.
It's also important to eat often. A lot of sources suggest eating 6 meals a day, but for me that is impracticle, I don't know about you. So if you can do that, that's supposed to help. Even if it's half a sandwich or something, but as long as it makes up to more than three meals. And you have to eat the right things - loads of fruit and stuff, and fish, there are loads of resources on the net that will help you with this.
Exercise is important, weightligfting and so on, but do you go jogging? Because that sort of excercise is important too (I think it's called cardiovascular exercise), the endurance exercise.
I was looking on the internet and I found this programme by Anthony Ellis - www.muscleincreaser.com/anthonyellis.html.
Although I'm sceptical about these sorts of things that say 'send us money and we'll show you how to do this and that' this guy has had some great reviews. I've had a look at it and I would recommend getting it if you really want this and you have the patience to make it work. You can buy it, but I'm sure there are other ways to get it on the internet, if you know what I mean... ;)

No, I don't think any medication will help you. In order to stay fit and gain muscle, you're doing the right thing, but you may be forgetting something. You should be eating 6 small meals a day and also drink 8 or more ounces of water each day. And don't forget to add lots of fiber to your diet and to take a multivitamin.

Oh I know how you feel I was very thin when I was young, I was only 6 and a half stone until I was about 30years of age and I went to about 3 doctors to try and put on weight but nothing worked, so someone suggested i go on this powdered stuff you make a drink out of called Body Bulk from the Health Food Shop, my weight shot up rather quickly but now I am older I wish I hadn't, it is ok to be thin and so much better for your health, I guess we are just never happy with ourselves....

If you can afford it I would suggest a personal trainer. My hubby's had a lot of sucess with one rather than trying to do his fitness plan on his own.

I know exactly what you mean. I have a thin bone structure, and according to the weight chart, somebody with my type of body and height should be around 130 pounds. I am 119 pounds. I was told that to gain weight, eat more calories.

I have a very strong build for a woman so this area I am an expert in. I will tell you what my diet my whole life has consisted of.
Eggs and cheese for breakfast, with toast eggs has been a primary food in my life. Fills you up, gives you plenty of protein. Try to stay away from sugary products they will only raise your heart rate and give you less room for muscle. Homemade hamburgers are also a very healthy meal if you are trying to raise muscle. You also need plenty of carbohydrates that will create fat that you can turn into muscle.

you feel frustrated with you body because you dont have any muscle. You dont have to. my friends. because i feel you, you know, what you are now is what i am before. Look no matter how hard you try to work out with yourself alone I assure you that nothing will change or improve with your body and its not a good idea. When I ve started my work out before in my home no matter how hared i try to used any heavy thing to carry just to form my body but nothing happens and you know why because i dont know the procedure how to form my body to have some muscle. Because of my failure I go to, to some professional to be trained just to have muscle in my body. take note this that within two months my body has started to change i can see some muscle that spring out from my shoulder even to my legs. so if I were you/ you have to seek for professional help if you really wnat to have some muscle. but yo have to pay for their service. but dont worry its all worth if you follow my advice
