One songs that always touches my heart is the "broken vow" by lara fabian. It's about a sad love story when the girl discover that the guy the she love's so much don't love her anymore beacuse he have someone new and better girl than her.

So, my answer to this question is - almost anything by Elliott Smith. I love BNL by the way - I saw them live about 8 or 9 years ago now. They put on the most awesome shows! I used to nearly cry listening to them. But the most sad songwriter ever, is by far, in my mind, Elliott Smith. Sometimes the newer Fiona Apple. She's great too! But if you haven't checked out Elliott Smith already, I would highly recommend him to the sad song lover. His music is just so beautiful, and almost always moves me to tears.

There is one song that nearly makes me cry but i absolutely love it all the same. The song is by Boyz 2 Men and its called 'End of the Road'. It's not that the song reminds me of a sad time or of someone i lost but i just find the words so heartbreaking. Its basically a song about the fact that someone knows that its the end for their relationship but they really don't want it to be and they can't let go. It's just so sad and i hope i am never in the situation where i am totally in love with someone but i know the relationship is not going anywhere and it's time to end it.
