Cheese should not be fed to hamsters,it may make them became diabetic, a hamster too fat is not healthy and may be ephemerality.Chocolate can not be fed to them either,as it can cause dease of heart.
I keep two hamsters in a cage, usually they sleep in the daytime and bite the bars of the cage or running in their wheel at night.I feed them with specialized feeds.

Yes. I agree exactly. Chocolate should never be giving to any small mammal (including cats and dogs).

You definitely shouldn't feed it cheese!
I would just suggest that you feed it more pellets/vegetables more often.
Perhaps feeding it 2 or 3 times a day.
Lettuce, carrots, pellets and bread will all fatten it up nicely.
I could also suggest a smaller cage, if it has a lot of room to run around in, and spending more time with it, so it warms up to you and stops biting.

Definitely, DON'T put him in a smaller cage. Poor guy. I'd lean toward the boredom, that somebody else posted. If you or I were enclosed in a single, tiny room, without any friends, games, activities, interesting things, music, sounds, I'd also start gnawing or just making a mess from frustration. Bigger the better. Maybe he is lonely? Spend more time with him. Play with him outside of the cage too.
Good luck. And show him love! He's not "naughty." :o)

Why is your hamster naughty and why do you want to make it fat? You should never overfeed a critter with fattening foods. That will just destroy its health and shorten its lifespan. It's in their disposition to be energetic and chew on things. That's what hamsters do. When I bought my babies home, they were swinging, jumping and climbing all over the place. I love watching them play.

oh,the way i usually do is feed my hamster two yogurt drops every day to keep it fat. but my friend told me,never feed your hamster with fresh orange. if you do that, your hamster will die.

I think that's just the way hamsters are! My Syrian hamster, Chuck, is crazy too! He's so active and restless - he bites the cage and swings from the top and flings himself off the top of his wheel - but that's a good thing! It's a sign that he's healthy. Making your hamster fat will probably make him grumpy and uncomfortable - so he'll probably be less approachable then!
One reason he may be biting the cage could be boredom - it's not certain but hamsters like to have lots of things to do and explore. I got my hamster a climbing ladder and he loves it! They also like wood blocks to chew on. Another good way to occupy them is to scatter their food around the cage - this encourages their natural instinct of foraging which they would do in the wild. My hamster also loves his exercise wheel. Having said all that, he still loves to chew on the bars of the cage - as have all my previous hamsters, but it's good for keeping their teeth down. If your hamster has a good staple diet of muesli and seeds, with a large cage filled with fun things to do, I'm sure he'll be happy! :D

Why exactly do you want to make it fatter? Are you planning to eat it?? _
