Being Fathers day on Sunday, my wife decided to make me a banana cake, from the recipe I always use. She was working away when she said 'Gee, it has a lot of butter in it. The whole tub!' I looked, seeing it all piled up and told her it doesn't use that much. She checked, and it was '250g butter cake mix' to be added. After avoiding that disaster, she went on to finish off. When she finally took it out the oven, it was very yellow, and didn't hold together very well. She said that after laughing at herself about the butter, she still ended up adding double the amount it should've had. It wasn't very nice, so she made my favourite chocolate cake the next day, which turned out perfect, as of course was the day! How was yours?

How funny! Sounds like something that I would have done...But you already know that right? Happy Father's Day to you and I am glad you did get a good laugh and another cake..You are so very special..Remember to tell your son this when he gets older...I have a great banana bread recipe and a Devil's food cake recipe from my grandma..They are so very good.

Heh funny. ;p Might have been too much butter, but baking it longer does help get it to solidify with the cake mix. In most cases thats what happens, but if it is too much butter/milk then you really won't get a cake, only mush ;p
