I have always thought that the best way is will power. However, there are some people who are really addicted, and cannot get over the vice on their own. There are many different products: patches, hypnosis, etc.
Which do you think it's the best way to quit smoking? how did you quit in case you did?

Well speaking as a smoker, I would say it is like anything else - you have to really WANT to give up, or it won't work. I had a few half-hearted attempts when I was younger, but I never took it seriously, because deep-down I enjoyed smoking too much and never wanted to quit. I've had hypnosos and various other things to try and stop my phobia about thunder storms (all failed miserably), so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't work for me with smoking either. You just have to WANT to, - then it is easy!!

very true. I tried once and i wasn't really fully convinced, and i failed after suffering for the lack of smokes. It was really stupid on my side really because i knew i didn't really want to quit.
This time though i did, and tis going very well, and hopefully won't smoke ever again.

many people talk about hypnosis...has to be a good method, no doubt. I admit that my first impression was skeptical when i first heard of it but after so many times hearing about it i am sure it has to work.

When my mother quit smoking she used the stop-smoking patch, My mother and step-father quit smoking at the same time, and the patch program was successful for both of them. The only thing to remember is not to smoke while you are on the patch or you'll get an overdose. They said they only thing they craved was the habit of smoking. To keep something in their mouth, they started chewing gum.

Yep, i have heard a lot bout those patches. And as you said, they're dangerous if you are not careful and smoke anyway...its either smoking or patches, but not both.

i think the critical point to quit smoking is you will that you believe that you can certainly do it!
