Update on our dear friend Mamakat0

I just received a PM from one of our dear members, Mamakat0. She asked me to give you an update on her health. As of right now, she is still completely blind in her right eye, and the vision in her left eye is still really blurry. She is getting headaches when she tries to watch tv, so for now she has to just listen to her shows instead. She's also a bit down because all of this is still preventing her from doing any cooking. She told me that a friend came over and fixed her computer, so she is at least able to be on it for about an hour every day. She has her doctor's appointment tomorrow (Sept. 5th), and she promised to give me an update after her appointment. So when I know more, I will update you again. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, and if you get a chance, please stop by her page and leave her some cheerful comments to lift up her spirits. I'm sure she would appreciate it.

You better believe I'm keeping Mamakat0 in my thoughts and prayers...and that's a wonderful idea to leave a comment on her page..going to do that right now..in fact I'm going to design something special for her using one of my photos ;)

I hope she gets better soon. If she remains blind, it will be an adjustment, but it can be done. I am legally blind, and I do OK. My fiance has glaucoma, and he's adjusting. My vision won't get any worse, but his will. Whatever the outcome. I hope things will be OK either way. I'm sure they will.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend... as bad as we ourselves feel, there is always someone who is so much worse! Please pass on my good wishes if you could... when she's back in shape, I'd like to make friends!

Well I don't know Mamakat, but I do wish better health for her, and a speedy recovery. I lost the sight in one eye a few years ago. Mercifully they were able to operate and I now have partial sight in that eye (the other one is fine thank goodness), and I now lead a perfectly normal life and can work full-time, and even drive. But I do know how difficult it is to have a visual impairment, and I hope something can be done for her too. Please give her all the best from me.

Thanks so much for the update, as I've been wondering how she's doing. She's quite young to be going through all of this. Please let her know for me, that she's been in my thoughts and prayers, and will continue to be.

Thanks so much. I've responded to her discussion about her condition, but am not sure if she'll be able to read them all. Her husband was helping her, which is so wonderful. Take care, and have a great day.:)

the dr. is tomorrow. like i said even my memory is messed up. Just wanted to say hi to everyone and thank you.
was helping a friend do my kitchen to day and when i picked up one of my glass balls it fell out of my hand and broke. :( did not hurt my self. i was told to go sit down and behave. i told her that i was just trying to help. everyday i am trying to do something and wind up letting someone else do it.
the disabiliy sent me some paperwork that they want me to fill out. after 5 min. of trying to read i put the paper work up and called my mother and told her and she said that we will work on it tomorrow. i am wondering if i will every get rid of the headaches. just letting you all know and will tell you what the dr. says tomorrow.

Hi hon! Thank you for setting me straight on your appointment. I'm lucky to remember my OWN appointments anymore! I'm glad you were not hurt when that glass broke. You are as stubborn and bull headed as I am woman! LOL Please be careful sweetie. I know that that patience thing is really hard, but you need to at least try. I'm also glad you have people around you that are watching out for you. Take care my dear friend. I luv you too.

well she will be in my prayers,and i hope she gets better soon.i dont have her as a friend,but i would like to tell her to get better and just take one day at a time.i will keep her in my thought,thank you.pattie

Definitely in my thoughts and prayers. I wish her a speedy recovery. I hope she's able to do the things she wants again. I know what its like not to be able to do so because of medical reasons. She's not alone. Neither are you Katlady.
