Am I the only one here who doesn't have an Ipod?

I'm a little embarrased to admit that I have yet to jump on this bandwagon. I do get red in the face when friends whip out theirs or else ask me about mine. I'm never one to go with fads just to belong, that is until the Ipod came along. I love music and technology so this is something I really want. I couldn't (and still can't) afford to buy it so I just listen to music on my PC or my trusty ol' CD player.
Am I alone in this predicament? Anyone else out there without an Ipod? Are you ashamed to not own one?

i don't have one and not ashamed of not having one. in our country where the economy is very bad, not a single money should be wasted. i hardly get into school everyday just having enough money to commute, not having any more left to buy food. usually i spend 10 hrs at school, being very hungry but hopefully it's worth it. i have a cellphone but it's only a 3310. let's not be ashamed of what we are and what we can and can't affordü

I don't own one, and I'm not the least bit ashamed. That's not to say that I don't want one, I just haven't been able to afford one yet. I'm still waiting for the technology to come down in price. I would like one for long trips, and for my days out. For now I am happy with my CD player, but I certainly wouldn't say no to an iPod if the price was right.

i don't have an ipod also but i'm not ashamed about that because we can still listen to music using our cd player or PC and other component. I like to own one but it's not really necessary, it's just also ok if i don't have one.

Heh, I am not an owner of an Ipod, but I am not sad. It's ok. Just think, you can live without a gadget, it doesn't define the life this, it's just a thing. Yes, it's a nice gadget to chase the boring and to entertain yourself, but it isn't really necesarly.

well, I don't have the iPod too but I am not saying it's not everywhere. The area where I live is a good locality, and I see at least iPod nano in every second person's hand I see in my gym or the park I go for the morning stuff. It's looking like it's started to get into people's life and soon there will be a time when everyone will have a Nano for sure. But as a fellow "mylotion" said above, it's still a little bit heavy on a student's pocket where already several holes are being made by the other things.

I don't have one either and I'm not ashamed. I can't afford it and I don't need it. My CD player is fine and so is my PC. Sometimes (just sometimes), I feel a little out of place when friends mention it. But it doesn't affect me that much to go out and get one.

There's nothing to be ashamed of it mate... Even I don't have it.. I also get to hear songs on my music player, my pc and my cell phone.. Infact, there was never a need for me to buy one... Don't feel down... There are a host of msic players much cheaper than the iPod and give almost the same quality of music... U can try them out for sure.. And if nothing happens, keep posting here on mylot, one day u will have enough money to buy the best iPod in town.. All the best...

I do not have an Ipod. I really have no need for an Ipod. My children do not have Ipod's either. We love music but we also have other interests that keep us busy.

i actually own 2 iPods. No, not because it is a fad, but because music is a HUGE part of my life and i cannot be anywhere without it. i need to be sure to always have some way of having my music with me, and carrying a little iPod with my music already on it is much more practical than carrying a bulky CD player along with several CDs. i actually woul dhave 3 iPods had i not given my iPod shuffle to my younger brother. That one came from my parents in my Christmas stocking in 2005. i LOVED it! Then AFI (my favorite band who also happen to be friends of mine) gave me an iPod Nano for my birthday in 2003. It had a lot more space and (at the time) i didn't see a need for more than one iPod, so i asked my parents if they would mind me giving the SHuffle to my brother. They thought that was a good idea, so i handed it off to him. Then the 80 GB iPods came out and my Nano was completely full and didn't have even an eigth of my music collection on it, so i decided to buy the 80 gig. Now i have the Nano (which i have not used in awhile) al filled up and then my 80 gig (which i use ALL the time...even when i am sleeping) that has all my music, plus phtos, videos, contact information, and a bunch of other stuff AND it still has room for me to add to it.

I don't have an ipod either. My sister and mother have one, as does my brother-in-law. But I don't care that I can't afford them. They are always upgrading them, so if you wait a while, they come out with a brand new type! And I imagine then most people will want to sell their old ones. That's when you and I can join the club, although we'd technically still be a bit behind. : )

Hey, I don't have one. I can't afford that. We live on one income and have 3 children. It doesn't bother me not to own one, I still just listen to cd's and the radio. In a hundred years it really won't matter that we didn't have one, actually we won't be polluting the earth, where does this stuff all go when a bigger and better toy is out there.

Well, I have a 4G Ipod Nano. But, as much as I get to use it I may as well say that I do not own one! My husband has completely taken it over and I don't want him to spend the money on getting another one. He takes mine with him to the gym, on deployments and tdy's, pretty much everywhere. He has filled it with mostly his music too. I got the Ipod and he decided that he wanted a Palm Pilot. His Palm Pilot now sits in a desk drawer at work and he takes my Ipod. It's looking like he got the better end of the deal!
